Last night, on Shaun Attwood’s by the day sky rocketing in viewer numbers YouTube channel, Matthew Steeples returned to chat about the latest developments in the sordid saga of why the “silver soufflé” that is Phillip Schofield has gone from telly-box-treasure to tarnished-turfed-out-trash.
In a week when a February 2020 article from The Steeple Times – titled simply “The Phil & Matt Show” – went viral on our pages and became by far our most read article ever of our thousands of pages of published content since we began in May 2012, it seems that interest in Schofield and his sidekick turned nemesis Holly Willoughby has overtaken that of interest in ‘Wallmart Wallis’ (AKA the former Meghan Markle).
Now, as speculation runs rife about what will come next in this matter, we today highlight who might become the next permanent host (or hosts) on This Morning and also again suggest that ITV would actually do better to put out this somewhat tired show to pasture. They could, instead, dust down their broom cupboard and come up with an entirely new show.

“The brilliantly bonkers Gyles Brandreth and the equally brilliantly bonkers Christine Hamilton – who herself once made a brilliantly bonkers speech at my very own 21st birthday party back in 2001 – have both sat on the This Morning sofa on many an occasion and there’s no inclusion of other stalwarts including the delights that are Ferne Britton and Matthew Wright either.”
“If the ‘show must go on’ in its present format, these are the kind of people who’d bring both fun and frolicks to our screens, but they’re also capable of serious debate also. ITV would do well to consider them.”

This afternoon on Twitter, Matthew Steeples asked: “Who will be next permanent host replacement for Phillip Schofield and who will be there as sidekick on ITV’s ‘This Morning’?” By 12:30pm on Friday 26th May 2023, the majority of respondents favoured the answer: “Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.”Responding to our poll within seconds, both mentioned options – Gyles Brandreth and Christine Hamilton – liked Matthew Steeples’s suggestion. The latter retweeted the missive with the accompanying caption: “I’m up for that – sounds a blast!!!” We respond: “Bring it on.”

Part one of Shaun Attwood’s interview with Matthew Steeples was filmed prior to Phillip Schofield deciding to step down from his role as co-host of ITV1’s long running morning show.On Boyle Sports this morning, the current stand-in presenters, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary were at odds of 2/1 and 5/2 respectively to become the next permanent host. Rylan Clark was at 11/4 and though the remainder of the list was made-up of predictable choices, it is a shame that some ‘wildcard’ options were not included.A truly unappealing date – Doing the rounds on social media this morning was an old advert to “win a ‘date’ with Phillip Schofield” from ‘Smash Hits’ magazine. In it, described was “the dream date of a lifetime” – which more sounded more like something akin to hell – of lunch with the since ditched-by-most ‘entertainer’ at “a swank London restaurant” which the winner would be “whisked off to on a “train (or a plane or a boat or whatever it takes).” The advert continued: “[You’ll dine at] one of the snootiest eating establishments in ‘town’ and there waiting to attend your every whim…”Of Schofield’s demise, writing in ‘The Sun’ earlier this week, Piers Morgan stated: “Phillip’s not the evil monster he’s being painted as, nor is he the angel his previously halo-clad reputation suggested. I know a lot of people who loathe him for the way he’s treated them, including my good friends Amanda Holden and Eamonn Holmes. But I also know some of his colleagues, current and past, who speak highly of him and feel genuinely sad that his career is going up in smoke like this. One thing’s for sure, what’s happened to him is further evidence that the abyss-like depths of ruthless backstabbing in the world of daytime television makes even the seething cesspit of Westminster politics seem like an oasis of loyalty by comparison. One-minute Schofield was undisputed king of morning TV and fast heading to bona fide national treasure status – the next he’s a dethroned, shamed, vilified, national disgrace and social media laughing stock. And many of those people he mistakenly thought were faithful friends and colleagues have been happily tossing him on the bonfire in a blizzard of lurid leaks, smears, and damaging headlines. It’s been brutal to watch, but again, entirely unsurprising… I don’t know the full story behind Phillip Schofield’s downfall, but where I feel personal empathy with him is over the manner of his sacking… I, too, was deprived of saying goodbye to my GMB audience and that hurt after putting so much effort into gaining their trust. But he can at least console himself with the fact that he got publicly thanked by his employers.”Aside from appearing on BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Archers’ as a guest earlier this month, Rylan Clark is said to be “taking a break” from his other presenting duties currently. Could this be code for him preparing to take over co-hosting duties on the ‘This Morning’ sofa?A dream trio? Could Christine Hamilton (pictured top with ex-MP husband Neil) team up with Gyles Brandreth and Matthew Wright and take the show into a new era? They’d certainly be able to better cross the divide into discussing ‘more serious matters’ in a way that the lightweight Schofield and Willoughby most certainly never did.
As his death is announced, Matthew Steeples joins those hoping that rotten Rolf Harris goes to rot in hell; his innocent victims – as young as just 7 years old – can now have the closure they so deserve
Having encountered both him and his weirder-than-weird wife on several occasions and having come to know several individuals he so disgustingly abused, it is not hard for me to join those taking – at the very least – relief at the death of the convicted paedophile Rolf Harris.
Aside from having met Harris and his wife at ritzy London parties and dined at the next table to him on occasions at Noor Jahan restaurant in Bina Gardens, SW5 – he terrified a young Australian girl in my party; she described him as a “creepy old letch” – I began to learn of the antics of this evil monster in the early 2010s and was contacted by victims of his as early as 2011.
Subsequently, I was amongst the first to report on the allegations made against him and, when he was first accused, recall going on BBC radio programmes to discuss the matter. In the early days, there was widespread disbelief that this supposed ‘national treasure’ known for working in amongst other things children’s television could be in the league of Jimmy Savile, but ultimately this vile Australian import was quite rightly convicted of abusing girls as young as just seven years old.
Harris, however, maintained his supporters and many bombarded me regularly. In a tirade of messages on Facebook in February 2016, for example, Ivan Godfrey – a man with a tendency for also sharing posts by the racist group Britain First and one of over 3,600 loopy people to have supported a disgraceful Change.org petition that seeks to free Harris – told me:
“I read your stupid irresponsible comment on Rolf Harris… Harris was sent down with NO EVIDENCE, by a corrupt imbecile of a judge, a corrupt jury and hammered by a vile corrupt government laky [sic] of a prosecutor Wass. You are obviously the sort of creep that has turned a once Great Britain into a cesspit”.
My response was simple: “You have the right not to read our content so please exercise that.”
Just a month prior, in August 2014 Harris seemed to be in better spirits and at the time, The Mirror reported he’d been handing out chocolate bars to fellow inmates and “thus affectionately became known as ‘Willy Wonka.’ The paper also claimed that the 84-year old also gave away sketches to those that queued outside his cell and that he had taken up dominoes.
Several deservedly unsuccessful attempts to overturn his convictions followed and when that didn’t work his daughter Bindi Nicholls – a woman who’d for a time disowned him, but who clearly came back looking to ensure she got a good chunk of the disgraced entertainer’s supposed £11 million fortune – decided she’d write a book about him in October 2018.
At the time, the Daily Star on Sunday revealed that Miss Nicholls “herself stooped to a new low in deciding to write a book about this monster’s life.” In notes for such a tome seen by the paper, Nicholls outlined her ‘plan.’ Comments included:
“Does this mean my father has suddenly found sex at the age of 87? Good for him I say. I hope I’m still thinking of sex at that age! He can barely run or get upstairs so it is great he can get the energy to fantasise at least!”
“How many Page Three models are over the age of 20? How many people have looked at Britney Spears in the video of her dressed in schoolgirl outfits?”
“Well I can tell you dad is no sexual predator, he is no murderer or kiddy fiddler!”
“Dad is from the age of Benny Hill, Carry On films. He is Australian – which was pretty male chauvinist in those days – that is the era he is from, so sometimes he says non-PC jokes.”
“He loves a flirt, which he does very openly, much to my embarrassment, but I have met many a man from my dad’s generation like that.”
“It’s harmless and you know it doesn’t lead anywhere. Dad loves to give compliments to women so they feel good, for no other reason!”
In his latter years – aside from bizarrely turning up at school to wave at children and wandering around Maidenhead in soiled clothing – the “health [of Rolf Harris supposedly] took a turn for the worse after the sudden death of his beloved poodle.” He is now thanfully brown bread and, given he was cremated, there’ll thankfully be no grave for his remaining ghoulish ‘fans’ to worship him at. This morning, my thoughts are with the victims of this repugnant rotter; may they now finally have closure and may rotten-to-his-core Rolf Harris rot in hell.

Yesterday on Twitter as news of his death was announced, Matthew Steeples issued a poll asking: “Will you mourn death of evil paedophile Rolf Harris? Equally, do you think his daughter Bindi Nicholls will come out of woodwork to claim his £££?” Still live by 10:45am on Wednesday 24th May 2024, the very, very clear majority of respondents (83.1%) not so unsurprisingly favoured the answer: “No; let him burn in hell.”

Harris, it must be remembered, was a monster who showed no remorse for what he did to his victims – whom called out his actions as having “destroyed their childhood innocence” and left them feeling “grubby, dirty and disgusting.” In 2015, this awful Australian penned a sordid ‘song’ in which he described them as “slimy little woodworms.” Sickly titled Gutter Girls – which in itself was illustrative of the true character of this evil rat – it went as follows:

Whether he returned after leaving preison with “dear friend” Amanda Plattell, for example, is unknown, but if he had, he’d likely have found his local Member of Parliament Theresa – now Lady – May at an adjoining table.Rotten Rolf’s circle of influence – This evil man got to hang out with everyone from the late Queen Elizabeth II to Boris Johnson; just like his chum Sir Jimmy Savile here was a deviant who realised that infiltrating the circles of the great and the good was key to getting away with his evil antics.In February 2020, Twitter users reacted angrily to a forcible deportation flight bound for Jamaica by arguing that it was wrong that the convicted paedophile Rolf Harris was not put on such a flight back to Australia after his release from prison in May 2017. Sadly, such an idea never came to fruition, but here we picture the monster with his equally off-the-scale weird chum Sir Cliff Richard.On the day he was sent down on 4th July 2014, Rolf Harris tried unsuccessfully to evade photographers by leaving his home by boat. An excerpt leaked to The Sun, this crazy woman was said to complain about her father’s paintings being removed from galleries and remarked: “I watched a programme about Picasso’s wives and how he fell in love with this girl who became his muse and secret lover at the age of about 14 to 15. They waited until she was 16 and then got married and were married for years. Do we now take all of his paintings from the galleries and burn them and denounce him as an artist and forget he ever painted? Because Picasso was a paedophile.” Going further, of one of Harris’ victims, Miss Nicholls specifically commented: “She loved drinking, she was a great drinker, which she inherited from her drinking family. Yes, my father should have been stronger, should have had better boundaries. He should have said no. He was married and he was the older wiser of the two, this was my best friend so that was also a no-go area, but he didn’t say no, they both loved the danger and the secrecy, and don’t forget this flirtation went on for twenty odd years, but they only had actual sex twice.”Rolf Harris was quite deservedly described as a “Jekyll and Hyde character” at his trial in 2014. Here, he is pictured with his wife Alwen Hughes, daughter Bindi Nicholls and another relative; the fact that he needed so much security was indicative of how utterly detested he had finally and most deservedly become.As with many of their type, paedophile Rolf Harris was friendly with fellow monsters including Sir Jimmy Savile. Here they are seen “sharing a joke” and “grinning creepily at each other” as the Australian ‘artist’ painted the abuser of even corpses and here they are also appearing on a television programme with an innocent little girl.Harris also had the support of some truly strange sorts – amongst them a twisted Twitter user going by the name of Lizzie Cornish (who raged on her now suspended Twitter handle: “ROLF HARRIS IS INNOCENT! I’m a woman pissed off by Lying Women”) and the convicted criminal ‘pop paedophile’ Jonathan King. Another, Kris Finch from Liverpool, remarked in 2015: “I have spent the past 50 years collecting Rolf Harris memorabilia, that collection was my pension and unless Rolfy is pardoned it’s worthless.”In July 2014, Conservative MP for Romford Andrew Rosindell was rightly condemned for having a photograph for having posted a picture of himself “grinning” with Rolf Harris on his Facebook page a month after the later convicted paedophile was first questioned by police in November 2012. The right-wing ranting Tory responded by whining: “I will try and take it down. I don’t know how to take it down to be honest.” He later bleated: “People better not be photographed with anyone in case they become future criminals.”In September 2020, ‘The Steeple Times’ reported on the filthy paedo pest pounding the pavements of Maidenhead in soiled clothing after previously being snapped in February 2019 waving at children in a playground whilst “hobbling along on a walking stick.” Clearly, this provided illustration that the ‘Two Little Boys’ singer had well and truly let himself go and was well into a stage of mental illness.That the convicted child abuser paedophile Rolf Harris “[hated] the noise” of children seemed most perplexing given his February 2019 visit to the Oldfield Primary School in Maidenhead, Berkshire to “wave” at children. One can only surmise that this noxious nonce did protest too much; he was subsequently given a warning about his frankly weird and creepy behaviour but should really have been recalled to jail many observed.Bizarrely there are still people out there who seek to defend and justify the twisted antics of the now late criminal sex offender. Amongst them are individuals going by the names of William B. Merritt and Mark Walker. The book by the former of the two, a private investigator, came out remarkably in May 2022 in paperback format and shockingly attempted to claim the Australian abuser innocent and his very much-deserved convictions “sinister.” Sickeningly Merritt went as far to allege: “Harris had no chance. Rolf was an entertainer he was a kind, artistic man who had spent most of his relying on others to manage and organise his working life. He had no experience in the rough and tumble world.”

The rancid rathole that keeps on ‘giving’ in the most shocking of fashions that is the case of the sex trafficking ring run by the croaked paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and the mendacious mucky madam Ghislaine Maxwell has taken further turns in recent days.
Aside from Epstein’s former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione – who had bunked up with him at the time of his first ‘suicide’ attempt at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in the summer of 2019 – having finally been convicted of quadruple murder, it seems the demand for the naming of names to whom he and Maxwell sex trafficked their victims to is finally starting to happen.
Whilst the likes of bankers such as disgraced ex-Barclays and ex-JPMorgan Chase CEO Jes Staley stand accused of, at the very list, ‘enabling’ Epstein through not doing enough due diligence about what the now croaked Ponzi schemer was using funds for, the Prime Minister of Israel between 1999 and 2001, Ehud Barak, is now again facing ‘the heat.’
On 4th May, Barak – whose cousin most curiously is an associate of Sarah, Duchess of York, Hillary Clinton and also Maxwell’s most willing PR peddler Daphne Barak – was named in an article in The Jerusalem Post after a calendar of his meetings with Epstein in 2016 came to light.
According to the report, first published in The Wall Street Journal, Ehud Barak:
Supposedly met with Jeffrey Epstein at least 36 times on a monthly basis from December 2015 onwards.
Epstein had been convicted for sex crimes in 2008 and had subsequently served jail time; it does seem curious that an Israeli ex-Prime Minister with a security detail would not have been aware of such.
Barak flew on Epstein’s private jet and visited his mansions in Florida and New York.
Epstein flew Barak from Palm Beach to Tampa on his ‘Lolita Express’ jet; Barak has claimed this was “for a US military installation” and claims he “flew only twice on his airplane, together with [his] wife and security detail.”
Epstein introduced Barak to Noam Chomsky, a “famed critic of Israel,” at his Lenox Hill mansion in January 2016. On that day “a large group of women were seen entering the home.”
Barak denies having had any relations with “girls or women” via Epstein.
Responding, the politician has stated:
“I never participated in any party or any other improper event around [Epstein], and never met him with girls or minors, or even adult women in improper context or behaviour.”
“In retrospect, [Epstein] seems to be a terrible version of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but at the time seemed to be an intelligent person, socially well connected and of wide areas of interest, from science to geopolitics.”
Turning their attentions to other ‘famous faces’ associated with the deviant duo on Sunday, Edward Helmore for The Guardian featured further names. He observed:
“Like a Hollywood zombie, the scandal surrounding the late sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein is resurfacing to infect the reputations of the living, as names once again emerge from legal documents amid fresh details of his daily itinerary of meetings with prominent government, financial and cultural figures.”
“The latest boldface names to emerge from a series of Wall Street Journal reports include the director of CIA, Williams Burns, and Kathryn Ruemmler, White House counsel under Barack Obama, alongside lesser figures including the leftwing professor and activist Noam Chomsky, billionaire venture capitalist Reid Hoffman and Lawrence Summers, former Harvard president and director of the National Economic Council under Obama.”
“And then there were the figures from arts and letters. Woody Allen was scheduled to visit the studio of Jeff Koons with Epstein. Another was Dr Helen Fisher, an anthropologist of human behavior. She was invited to speak to his staff.”
“Simultaneously, a lawsuit filed in US district court by an unnamed woman and the US Virgin Islands against Epstein banker JP Morgan is not only dragging financial fat cats, including JP Morgan’s CEO, Jamie Dimon, and former Barclays CEO Jes Staley, but also Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Hyatt Hotels chairperson Thomas Pritzker, American Canadian businessman Mortimer Zuckerman and former CAA talent agent Michael Ovitz toward giving depositions under oath.”
“Last week, The [Wall Street] Journal looked at just one day – 8 September 2014, six years after Epstein was registered as a sex offender in Florida – and found that he planned to meet with four billionaires: Gates, Zuckerman, Pritzker and Leon Black, a financier whose ties to Epstein are already known.”
“The outlet has not revealed where it obtained the documents, which it said include thousands of pages of emails and schedules from 2013 to 2017.’ It said it could not verify that the scheduled meetings took place, but said some documents ‘provided new details about how often or where the people met with Epstein, and the kinds of favors Epstein did for them.’”
Elsewhere, the appearance of ‘The Grand Old Duke of Broke’ Prince Andrew at his brother’s coronation and coronation concert on Saturday and Sunday last has revived interest in his associations with the dastardly duo Epstein and Maxwell. Both the duke and his live-in ex-wife ‘Fergie’ still have a lot of questions to answer about what money and hospitality they took from the pair and last night’s final episode of Channel 4’s excellent documentary series Andrew: The Problem Prince appropriately concluded with Emily Maitlis asking: “Is there anything left that has been unsaid that you would like to address now?” The rotten royal arrogantly answered: “No, I don’t think so. You have probably dragged out most of what is required.”

This morning on Twitter, Matthew Steeples asked: “With latest developments concerning bankers and politicians being more publicly ‘connected’, will any of those powerful people Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficked their victims to be finally be brought to justice?” By 11:30am on Tuesday 9th May 2023, the majority of responses (82.9%) were: “No; nothing will develop.”The former Briarcliff Manor police officer Nick Tartaglione was arrested on 19th December 2016 and charged with a quadruple homicide. The case against him was most curiously delayed by everything from “from the decision to seek the death penalty to the COVID-19 pandemic, to an ongoing, months-long hearing on whether a conflict of interest exists that would keep any of the defense lawyers from continuing to represent [him].” Of the 23rd July 2019 supposed “suicide attempt” by Epstein whilst the pair were cellmates and when Prince Andrew’s ‘bestie’ was “found in a foetal position with marks around his neck,” Tartaglione’s lawyer Bruce Barket “told NBC News that the day before Epstein’s death, officials at the MCC informed him in an email that the internal investigation had concluded and his client would face no charges or internal discipline. ‘We’ve always maintained Nick did nothing wrong and that’s clearly been borne out here by the jail itself,’ Barket said.” Tartaglione was found guilty of the execution of the four men and burying them in a mass grave over a perceived debt last month; he now likely will receive a life sentence when sentenced.“I was her parents’ worst nightmare” – words said by James Staley his very self – will be ringing in the ears of swivel-eyed Debbie Nitzan Staley in the wake of her husband’s former company Barclays’s decision to not (yet) payout £22 million the couple were expecting. Matthew Steeples suggests the BBC’s ‘Murder in Mayfair’ provides the family of 2008 murder victim Martine Vik Magnussen with no concrete answers and certainly leaves them no closer to justice; cowardly cokehead Farouk Abdulhak should now be dragged to Britain kicking and screaming
In reality, whilst some will quite rightly argue that the programme’s presenter Nawal Al-Maghafi has brought something new to this tragic story by engaging with the on-the-run in Yemen only suspect in the case via Snapchat, I’d say that sadly she stopped engaging with Abdulhak at just the wrong moment and should have gone further.
In what was described to me afterwards as “teen drama stupidity presentation with all that Snapchatting” and a presentation that “cracked the nut open, but didn’t follow through and get a conclusion” by two beady eyed viewers with knowledge of the case, Al-Maghafi produced a documentary that The Sun’s Katy Docherty rightly pointed out “left more questions than answers.”
During the show, Abdulhak – the son of a deceased business tycoon named in the Panama Papers nicknamed ‘The King of Sugar’ and a rat himself prone to vulgarly using the moniker ‘DP’ because of his penchant for consuming vast amounts of Dom Perignon champagne – was shown to engage with Al-Maghafi and shared remarks that included:
“I don’t know what happened, it’s all a blur.”
“I have flashbacks every once in a while.”
“If I smell a certain female perfume, I feel uncomfortable.”
“I deeply regret the unfortunate accident that happened. I regret coming here [Yemen]. Should have stayed and paid the piper.”
“It was just an accident. Nothing nefarious.”
“Like told you, just a sex accident gone wrong.”
“No one knows because I could barely piece together what happened.”
He subsequently added that he blamed cocaine for what occurred and added: “Trust me I’m legally f**ked… Leaving the country and the body was moved.” Asked: “Why did you move the body?” by Al-Maghafi, Abdulhak cryptically answered in a very convenient “recollections may vary” style: “I don’t remember.”
Going further this spoilt brat former Regent’s Business School (RBS) pupil – who supposedly now spends his days playing on the Internet with just two bodyguards as ‘friends’ – arrogantly tried to justify his actions. He claimed he had not returned to Britain because:
“I don’t think justice will be served. I find that the criminal justice system there is heavily biased.”
“I think they will want to make an example of me, being the son of an Arab. Being a rich son.”
“I don’t know what answers they want to get. Nothing is going to bring their daughter back. There’s nothing that’s going to change what happened.”
Speaking to the presenter – who sadly missed an opportunity to delve deeper because she rather pathetically didn’t seem to feel comfortable doing such – subsequently, the victim’s father Odd Petter Magnussen shared that he had been offered £41 million ($50 million, €46 million or درهم184 million) to drop the case and “move on.” This courageous man remarked that he had rejected that and told Farouk Abdulhak: “You cannot hide forever.”

Elsewhere, in a post on Facebook on 18th December 2022 on the ‘Justice for Martine Vik Magnussen’ group but something not examined in any real depth in Murder in Mayfair unfortunately, it was stated:
“On 7th December 2022, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that on 19th November Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt had a conversation with Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak in the Yemeni government-in-exile about Martine’s case.”
“Ahmed bin Mubarak confirmed that he had sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior for the authorities to do what they could to arrest Farouk Abdulhak. This also means that an arrest warrant has been circulated to the airports in the country. Following the meeting on 19 November, the Norwegian Foreign Service received a verbal note from Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming that this has been done.”
“Foreign Minister Bin Mubarak also expressed great sympathy for Martine’s family.”
Going further, in January, lawyer Patrick Lundevall-Unger remarked in a post shared on the same Facebook group:
“The controversial state act by the then Sahle regime to harbouring an Egyptian fugitive wanted for rape and murder, should be corrected by the present authorities in Sanaa.”
“Most of all, however, we appeal to the suspect himself to voluntarily return from his residency in Sanaa to the UK.”
“Potential escape routes, such as going by speed boat from Yemen to Djibouti onwards to family in Ethiopia, will not work in the future.”
“Farouk, I therefore appeal to you to come to your senses and deliver on fundamental justice for Martine and beyond. Without justice in the world, we cannot have peace – the two are intertwined. The same applies to you Farouk! Farouk: you can contribute to justice thereby finding your own peace!”
Mr Lundevall-Unger is bang on the nail; it is time for Farouk Abdulhak to put away the Snapchat and the coke and it is time instead for him to man-up and face the fact that he’ll never be free of this saga until he returns to Britain and finally tells the truth about what happened that fateful night.

A post-mortem examination gave Martine Vik Magnussen’s cause of death as compression to the neck. In November 2010, an inquest recorded a verdict of unlawful killing. She had been raped, beaten, strangled and attempts had been made to conceal her body in rubbish and rubble.Both the suspected rapist-murderer and his innocent, tragic victim were students at Regent’s Business School – known also as ‘RBS’ and a place which frankly should have its lavatorial areas tested daily for cocaine as it’d likely be found to have more on the premises than the Houses of Parliament even.Martine Vik Magnussen was a bright, attractive 23-year-old lady whose life was so reprehensibly taken from her. This was a strong message to the suspect that he can no longer rely on the total support of his own people. I hope he is not sleeping so well these days.”The funeral of Martine Vik Magnussen – a young lady whose life should not have been cut short at 23 and whose rapist-killer must be brought to justice.

As she rots in the clink, further evidence comes that Ghislaine Maxwell’s brother is getting increasingly desperate. This week, illustrating he isn’t being taken seriously elsewhere, Ian Maxwell turned to an obscure San Francisco news channel named KRON4 to tell yet more yarns about his mucky madam sex fiend sister.
In comments, subsequently shared only by the now little read website MSN, Mr Maxwell supposedly told KRON4’s Vicki Livakis:
“She wishes she had never met Jeff Epstein, and because the havoc that relationship has caused, not just Ghislaine, but really everybody that came in touch with him.”
“Basically, it was a stitch up from after Jeffrey Epstein died in US government custody when Bill Barr was Attorney General.”
“The only person to actually take the fall is Jeff Epstein, and he’s dead of course.”
“We don’t really know, the extent of what happened [on the night of 10th August 2019 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York]. There, his own family thinks he was murdered. My sister thinks he was murdered.”
“If there are other people that have not yet come into the prosecution’s orbit, and who may be powerful people and don’t wish to be involved in this, somehow that they would find it. An ability to murder my sister or cause her to have an accident that looks like an accident but isn’t.”
“We are her family. We love her, we miss her, and we will support and defend her.”
Bizarrely also, Brian Basham, we can today reveal that the PR peddler the deviant daughter of the pension pot plunderer became so reliant on to push out piffle on her behalf prior to her conviction, has gone remarkably quiet in recent months. He appears to have given up on the paramour of his pen and left the donkey work to Ian and Kevin Maxwell instead.
In spite of threatening to confront me at the 2022 edition of CrimeCon in London (and then being a Cowary Custard no-show), Mr Basham seems to have given up on Twitter. Has Basham been fired by the Maxwell family or did he quit before he was pushed?
Does Basham still believe in the innocence of the convicted criminal sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell?

As the Epstein-Maxwell saga continues to unravel, Matthew Steeples looks at the forthcoming fallout for ‘The Monsters’ linked including Prince Andrew, Steve Bannon, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Jes Staley
The rotten rabbit hole that is the Epstein-Maxwell saga seems to never end. Barely a day goes by without new developments or old ones being revisited and in the last week, the prospects of further fallout for linked parties has only grown.
Aside from Prince Andrew whingeing and whining via third parties that he has been left “bewildered” and “in despair” after King Charles III cut him off from access to the £650 million ($782 million, €735 million or درهم2.9 billion) estate left by Queen Elizabeth II, the non-sweating ‘bestie’ of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell is allegedly also ludicrously proposing a new television interview “telling his side” of the story. An unnamed source last week went as far as to claim now “feels there is little else to lose” and that “nothing is off the table… Andrew has been made to give up his job and now potentially his home.”
Turning to Maxwell and her appeal prospects, on Thursday The Guardian’s New York based ‘reporter of courts’ Victoria Bekiempis analysed the mucky madam’s prospects. Bekiempis argued Maxwell “faces [a] hard road in bid to overturn sex-trafficking conviction” with the help of her new lawyer, a representative also of Harvey Weinstein named Arthur L. Aidala.
Going further, Bekiempis added:
“[Aidala has] said Maxwell was a ‘proxy’ for Epstein who was prosecuted ‘to satisfy public outrage over an unpopular non-prosecution agreement and the death of the person responsible for the crimes’ … [His] comments might have been aimed more at generating sympathetic media coverage than being a predictor of the appeal’s likely success. Maxwell cannot mount an appeal based on her own claims that she was a hapless surrogate for Epstein, or too tired at trial.”
“Her legal team will have to argue instead that there were legal errors in proceedings against her that necessitate a verdict reversal, and that is where her bid to have her conviction overturned will succeed or – according to many legal experts – more likely fail.”
“‘The likelihood of the second circuit reversing her trial verdict is close to zero,’ said Ron Kuby, a longtime criminal defense attorney with a focus on civil rights. ‘The second circuit tends to uphold almost all criminal convictions as a general matter.’”
“In the rare cases the second circuit does reverse a trial court outcome, leading to a new trial, it is typically because prosecutors have over-stretched a legal theory – or because the US supreme court has made a decision that affects proceedings in lower courts, Kuby said.”
“‘But Maxwell’s trial was none of that – the Maxwell trial was all very well-plowed legal territory,’ Kuby said. The proceedings against Maxwell – which stemmed from serving as Epstein’s procurer of victims – were not complicated by racketeering counts, nor convoluted bribery charges.”
“‘It’s like very, very, very fancy trappings, but fundamentally, it’s the prosecution of a pimp, which is not that complicated,” Kuby said.”
“Rachel Fiset, co-founder of Los Angeles firm Zweiback, Fiset & Zalduendo, said she thought a successful appeal was ‘unlikely.’”
“While Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison, will probably fail in her appeal, there is still a reason for her to try.”
“‘She’s looking at a very long sentence, and they are looking at ways to have it overturned, and there are not any options beyond an appeal,’ Fiset said. ‘She doesn’t have very much to lose other than the cost of the appeal.’”
“‘It’s not uncommon for people with a lot of means to appeal their conviction in the hopes that it’s overturned. Maxwell has remained very steadfast that she has not committed these crimes and that it’s not her fault, so the appeal is not surprising.’”
Elsewhere, interest in Epstein and Maxwell’s involvement with Donald Trump was revived yesterday in Business Insider. In an article titled: “Jeffrey Epstein said he stopped hanging out with Trump ‘when he realised Trump was a crook,’ according to his brother,” writer Jacob Shamsian quoted the croaked paedophile’s sibling Mark Epstein.
Referencing a still to be released video interview between Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump’s disgraced White House advisor Steve Bannon, Shamsian shared:
“Mark Epstein told Insider he viewed a clip of the interview, conducted by Trump’s former White House advisor Steve Bannon, after his brother forwarded it to him in the spring of 2019.”

Sarah, Duchess of York would most likely rather a photograph taken of her on 13th February 2010 to forever disappear. It was taken at the now infamous Lenox Hill, New York ‘Paedo Palace’ where Jeffrey Epstein conducted so much of his abuse and it features the royal ratbag grinning like ‘The Cheshire Cat’ alongside the since croaked paedophile’s also since deceased maid, Jun-Lyn Fontanilla.
Epstein, at that stage, was a convicted sex offender who had been released from jail on 22nd July 2009 and one would have thought someone would have advised the son of the late Queen Elizabeth II that hanging around in places of perversion might not be a good idea.

Just as was the case for him and his ex-wife over Epstein, the Duke of York’s decision to keep Mr Ecclestone as a friend is something that he deserves to be questioned about given the ex-Formula 1 head honcho is due to go on trial in connection with a £400 million fraud by false representation case brought against him by His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on 15th November 2023.
Sarah, Duchess of York’s support for the Duchess of Sussex is another example of her backing the wrong horse. “You see in this country, I think the saying is: ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ and unfortunately, through this whole turn of events, through the adverse media which has been printed and written about me, all they see me as this monster. So, how can you possibly give a fair trial just to adverse media?”
Adding a completely currently unproven as either true or false allegation, Bear continued:
“Secondly, at the very beginning, before the jury was picked, they were asked a series of questions and one person should be accountable for contempt of court. Hopefully, I can speak to the police about this and give them all the evidence.”
“You see, if you’ve got one bad apple, the whole jury should be slung out in my opinion.”
Attempting to very predictably play the Prince Harry “mental health issues” excuse, the convicted sex offender blubbed:
“And, do you know what, the only good thing that’s come from this whole situation is that I got a psychiatric report written about me and they’ve told me that I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, depression and anxiety. So, hopefully I can get some treatment and some help, maybe some talking therapy. I just need some help really because going through mental health, I live through this every single day.”
Ending in a Spare-esque whinge, Bear concluded:
“I just hope I can speak to the news or something about what’s happened… I just hope I can give, just my side of the story. An honest, just my side of the story and hopefully it just comes out and it gives just a different opinion on me and hopefully we can spin the narrative… I can see everyone has already made their minds up about the narrative.”
Approached then by members of the press, in videos filmed by others including news presenter Dan Walker, Bear was seen to tell Smith “just keep recording babe” as he was asked by a journalist: “Do you wish to apologise to Georgia Harrison?”
Ignoring questions from her and others, the noxious nitwit continued:
“There’s no point me even answering any questions. As you can see everyone, this is it. Fingers crossed it goes well today and maybe I get some sort of justice from this whole situation. Thank you so much.”
Outrageously, then, after noticing a clearly very young female ‘fan’ standing amongst the press pack, Bear summoned her over by asking: “Do you want a picture? Do you want a selfie? Come then, come over. I’m a man of the people” just as another journalist stated: “You’ve been called a self-obsessed show-off. You’ll do anything to be front page. Do you have any response to that?”
He then gave the V-sign and proceeded to ask another female journalist dressed in a red coat: “What made you dress in red today?” before bizarrely singing: “Lady in red is talking to me, cheek to cheek, I wanna know why she’s by my side, my lady in red, lady in red, she’s talking to me, cheek to cheek. I wanna know why she’s by my side.”
“I love you [Stephen Bear]. I’ll always be by your side, stay strong babe. The truth will come out… You never had a fair trial.”
“Through thick and thin my love. I’ll see you soon.”
In a weepy whine of Meghan Markle-esque qualities, she then concluded last night:
“What event the point anymore? I’ve lost half of my heart. I feel empty.”

Matthew Steeples examines whether the recent suicide by gunshot of “the envy of Wall Street” billionaire Thomas H. Lee was in any way linked to a clear association with Bill Clinton and a possible one with Jeffrey Epstein
Thomas H. Lee did not appear in the 95-page infamous ‘Little Black Book’ associated with Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell. Now, however, after his apparent ‘suicide’ this billionaire financier has not only described as “considerate, generous and unpretentious” and a “constant presence” in her life by Hillary Clinton, but also as having “links” to Jeffrey Epstein.
Sparking rumours of yet another example of the ‘Clinton Body Count’ – the much disputed conspiracy theory that as many as fifty people with close links to the Clintons have died in nefarious circumstances – Stephen M. Lepore for the DailyMail.com shared a photograph of Lee at a New York shindig with another billionaire named Robert Kraft and a couple named Glenn and Eva Dubin. Swedish Ms Andersson-Dubin dated Jeffrey Epstein prior to his 2008 conviction and continued to “socialise with [him] after his time in jail,” Bloomberg reported in 2019.
The 78-year-old Harvard graduate and founder of Lee Equity Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners was best known himself for having bought the soft drinks brand Snapple Beverages in 1992 for £112 million ($135 million, €127 million or درهم496 million) and sold it for a 334% profit to Quaker Oats for £1.4 billion ($1.7 billion, €1.6 billion or درهم6.2 billion) in 1994.
Known also for being an “avid art collector,” father of five Lee also served as a trustee of Lincoln Center, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, Brandeis University, Cardozo Law School at Yeshiva University, Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston, Harvard University, the Intrepid Museum Foundation, NYU Medical Center, and Rockefeller University.
In a statement currently opening the homepage of their website, Lee Equity Partners shared:
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Founder and Chairman, Thomas H. Lee. He was a great partner and wonderful friend whose vision will continue to influence us for many years to come.”

Clearly illustrating that something might be amiss in the financial community, a member of the Wall Street Oasis forum last week remarked of Lee’s death:
“Self-inflicted gunshot wound. Wonder if he knows something about the future…”
Another added: “Perhaps another private equity guy with Epstein connections about to get exposed.”
Going further on Monday, Fortune shared an article with the headline: “Thomas H. Lee’s sudden death shocks partners at his $3 billion private investment firm – with a $1 billion fundraise in the balance.”
For the publication, Dawn Lim and Amanda Gordon added:
“Since then, Lee Equity’s executives have been forced to confront a difficult moment. In at least one conversation, they discussed the importance of reassuring clients that there’s no connection between his death and Lee Equity’s financial health or fund performance.”
“Lee’s death has ushered in a new level of public attention for a shop that manages £2.5 billion ($3 billion, €2.8 billion or درهم11 billion) and doesn’t have a formal media-relations team. It also comes at a critical juncture for the 40-person firm, which is raising a £833 million ($X billion, €942 million or درهم3/7 billion) fund just as investors have become increasingly reluctant to part with their cash amid volatile markets. The firm has raised the vast majority of that fund, other people said.”
“The suicide also presents a test for key partners Mark Gormley, Benjamin Hochberg, Yoo Jin Kim and Joseph Rotberg. They’re among eight executives who climbed the ranks to take bigger leadership roles and steered the firm into financial services and health care.”

Lee’s cut of the profits was less than 10% for the firm’s last fund.”
“In recent days, several institutions extended condolences and provided expressions of support to the firm. Investors such as Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. committed money to the new fund. The firm’s backers have said they hope Lee’s death doesn’t rattle new investors.”
