Rolf Harris sentenced to 5 years and 9 months in jail
On Friday morning Rolf Harris tried to evade photographers by leaving his home by boat for his final trip to Southwark Crown Court. He didn’t succeed and also rightly failed to avoid jail.

Accompanied by his daughter but without his wife, Alwen Hughes, this disgraced entertainer cut an arrogant figure both as he arrived and as he was sentenced. As the judge sent him down he “showed no emotion” and was led away by two guards.

Rolf Harris: Guilty as charged
As Rolf Harris loses first conviction appeal, we call for him to be stripped of his CBE On Friday, sex offender Rolf Harris lost his first appeal against his conviction for 12 indecent assaults on four girls, including one aged just seven or eight.

Harris is brushed out
Rolf Harris’ portrait of the Queen disappears After the BBC commissioned Rolf Harris to paint a portrait of the Queen in 2005, the Corporation showed a special episode of Rolf On Art featuring the Australian artist and entertainer working on it.
Harris will begin his jail term – which will last approximately 2 years and 4 months – in Wandsworth. We hope he gets a warm welcome in the prison showers. This vile monster deserves to die in the clink.

Completely agree, this repellant phoney should be imprisoned for the rest of his bloody life. He should also be forced to contribute his entire fortune to pay for substantial damages to his victims, that should wipe the smirk off his nauseating face…….
I have now reached the stage of my life referred to as “elderly”. BUT if I go down memory lane and don’t linger TOO long, I recall all too clearly being groped in many places (public and private!) and responding positively by either removing the offending hands or threatening to scream the place down! It always worked although it definitely affected my professional career.
And, yes, it can be very traumatic for a very young person to be assulted in this and more intrusive ways. But there are so many men (and some women too!) out there guilty of such acts and the vunerable need to be taught how to handle such situations.
Karate, anyone?
Everybody was kung fu fighting, those men were fast as lightning ” works in the movies only, more complicated in real life.
