The Money of McCann

Gerry and Kate McCann rake in £773,600 of private money in spite of admitting there is “nothing much to report” 14 years into the fast approaching £13 million public funded investigation into the dubious ‘disappearance’ of their daughter Madeleine

Not content with having garnered over £12.5 million in public funding for the police investigation with a further £300,000 top-up likely to come soon, it has this week been revealed that Gerry and Kate McCann’s privately administered fund now has an astonishing net worth of £773,629.

Madeleine’s Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned Ltd. – which counts controversial double glazing tycoon Brian Kennedy, a man whom once bizarrely claimed he “had visions of flying in by helicopter to rescue Madeleine,” amongst its directors since 16th May 2007 – is listed as having £235,900 in cash and £245,000 in assets in newly released accounts.

Whilst last week, Dr and Mrs McCann told the Mirror that they “still believe in miracles,” in a post on the ‘Official Find Madeleine Campaign’ Facebook page the particularly pugnacious pair also had to admit of the investigation: “Nothing much to report.”

Previously, a ‘friend’ (‘unnamed,’ of course, as is so often the case with anyone speaking on behalf of those close to the case of missing Madeleine McCann) of Dr and Mrs McCann remarked:

“Kate and Gerry know the police investigation cannot go on forever.”

“When [the police investigation] is shelved, and if there is no result, Kate and Gerry will use money in the fund to continue the hunt.”

“That is what it is there for. They paid for their own team of private investigators initially and when the official inquiry ends they will do so again although in the past it has proven to be extremely costly.”

Today, again, we ask: “Why does so much public money continue to be wasted on an investigation that has achieved nothing in 14 years and why is another £300,000 about to be given from the public purse when other missing person searches get little to nothing? Why is this disproportionate allocation of taxpayer funded resources allowed to go on?”

The Money of McCann – £300k public and £774k more to McCann search – Gerry and Kate McCann rake in £773,600 in spite of admitting there is “nothing much to report” 14 years into the fast approaching £13 million public funded investigation into the dubious ‘disappearance’ of their daughter Madeleine. What about financial support for other missing person cases such as that of Martin Allen, Luke Durbin and Ben Needham?
The Money of McCann – Ben Needham, then aged just 1, disappeared on the Greek island of Kos on 24th July 1991. He has been missing for over 29 year and in the time since his mother, Kerry Needham, has shockingly come under attack from supporters of the family of Madeleine McCann. Of this in October 2015, she commented: “It feels like a personal attack on me. It is deeply, deeply hurtful. I have myself had massive amounts of slanderous abuse from supporters of the McCann campaign in the past but I have never taken that personally. It’s freedom of speech. But it is getting the names of two missing children out there which is really important.”

What about financial support for other missing person cases such as that of Martin Allen, Luke Durbin and Ben Needham?
The Money of McCann – Luke Durbin disappeared aged just 19 in Suffolk in May 2006. In spite of his mother’s tireless campaign to attempt to find her vanished son, why don’t the police devote more resources to the search for him?

The Money of McCann – Martin Allen vanished without a trace in London on 5th November 1979 aged just 15. Though his brother, Kevin Allen, has kept the case in the public eye as much as he can, he gets little to no help from the Metropolitan Police. Again today, we ask: “Why isn’t money from the public purse allocated to solving this case and thousands like it and why, instead, has fast approaching £13 million been allocated to a case that has not been solved in 14 years?”
The Money of McCann – In September 2018, Ben Needham’s mother Kerry quite rightly told ITV1’s ‘Loose Women’ that “it hurts” that so much money has been allocated to the search for Madeleine McCann whilst so little has been given to aid help other families find their missing relatives. She added: “[Madeleine] deserves to be found, but so does Ben. We haven’t had a fraction, I’ve had to fight alone as a single mum and try to get the help that Ben deserves… I don’t take anything away from anyone who’s got a loved one who is missing, but every single one deserves to be found.”

    • You should be arrested for indecency. Shame on you for not supporting dear Gerry and Kate McCann in their efforts to find their beloved daughter Madeline. FIND MADELEINE, FIND HER NOW.

        • “Pugnacious” – eager or quick to argue, quarrel, or fight. Gillian Trott is not unlike the “particularly pugnacious pair” she supports. Why should anyone feel shame for not supporting dear Gerry and Kate McCann in their efforts to find their beloved daughter Madeline with that kind of bullish attitide?

Little wonder that case this has not been solved in 14 years despite a £13 million public funded investigation. No amount of public funded money can guarantee the return of a missing child, let alone the safe return of that child, yet we live in a culture where some people feel that public funded money eases their pain because it gives them a sense of hope. I hope to win the lottery but am I guaranteed to win it? Of course not. One can hope without it costing me, you or the tax-payer a single penny let alone £13 million and there is no shame in that.

  1. Madeleine McCann’s parents are only doing what one would expect – Keeping alive hope to find their daughter who was so despicably taken from them by an evil person, likely Christian Brueckner. The conspiracy theorists amongst will no doubt blame Gerry and Kate but this is quite ridiculous. They were just parents on holiday and they have been so horribly defamed by so many over the years. All they want is their daughter back. Do the right thing and support not be critical.

    • WHAT proof has anyone that CB has taken Madeleine? none at all
WHAT proof is there that kate and Gerry have lied? plenty
In phone calls home they said the windows and shutter were smashed broken and jemmied and that the apartment was locked all now proven to be false except locked patio door
Why would any intruder open a window and shutter from inside, please answer Zac

  2. Gerry and Kate McCann are assisted by friends and donors like Philip Green, Richard Branson, Robbie Williams, David Steele, Wayne Rooney, Christopher Meye, Catherine Meyer, Gloria Hunniford, Brian Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Frankie Dettori, Jonny Wilkinson, JK Rowling, Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Fiona Phillips, Peter Bowls, Ernie Els, Theresa May, David Beckham, John Terry, Vicky Pattison, Barrack Obama, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, The Pope, Rebekah Brooks, Peter Mandelson, Bob Geldoff, Esther McVey, Nick Candy, Holly Vallance, Bryan Adams, Kevin Pieterson… Speaks volumes – Why don’t these people help other missing families? It STINKS!!! These people ALL STINK!!!!!!!!!

  3. What’s “Chanel-clad” Catherine Meyer (now known as Baroness Meyer thanks to Theresa May helping her along) got to say about this? Or is she too busy tin banging in Ukraine? Interesting to learn she’s got her pointy fingered paws into a country where there’s ££££ to be made! These people are all as bad as Boris Johnson – where there’s a till, there’s a Meyer.

  4. When will Carrie Symonds be hosting a party with Henry Newman for Gerry and Kate McCann to jointly unveil the new decorations in the Downing Street flat? I’d like an invite given the public likely will be paying for the hooch!

  5. This case only leads down one road – CORRUPTION. Detective Goncalo Amaral knew that and look how he got treated. P.S. Melinda missed out the Gerry and Kate McCann favourite to go to for a risotto at his villa in the Algarve, the late paedophile Sir Clement Freud.

  6. Sh*t fLocks together and the list provided by Melinda Jackson contains a lot of such. Especially Sir Philip Green and Sir Richard Branson.

  7. This is a disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be focusing on dear Gerry and Kate McCann’s dearly beloved daughter having turned 18 and still not having been found. The efforts being made are clearly and apparently much required still as there is so much evidence pointing to Christian B and others and this must be gone through. The money given by the public proves they still care and you are disgusting to spend your efforts not supporting dear Gerry and Kate in their efforts for their beloved daughter. Make recompense now and put up an appeal to help support them!!!!!!!!!!! It is required and we must all do what we can to FIND MADELEINE, FIND MADELEINE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Madeleine McCann died in the apartment. Cadaver dogs knew that and everyone with half a brain knew that. Blood spatter, sense of death in the cupboard. Etc. Etc.

  9. Gerry and Kate McCann should and will the truth on the 15th anniversary. I am a clairvoyant and I predict this now.

  10. How do Gerry and Kate sleep at night?

Why were the other two children not taken away by child services?

They should have been charged with child neglect at the very least.
