Lady Meyer packs in charity
“Chanel-clad” Catherine Meyer – whose pay packet from an organisation she founded named Parents & Abducted Children Together attracted criticism from The Telegraph’s Richard Eden and The Independent’s Janet Street-Porter in 2011 – has finally stood down as the CEO of Action Against Abduction (formerly PACT).
In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Meyer announced she’d be standing down on 1st May as she is “looking to do something completely different”. She neglected to mention exactly what that is but added: “I shall never loose [sic] my commitment to putting an end to the evil of child abduction”.
Bless.

The world is now a better place. NOT. Lady Meyer has aided Gerry and Kate McCann in their efforts to spend £12 million yet have not found their child. What an utter waste and she got a CBE for it. Shame on Theresa May.
I second those sentiments Penny, but did they seriously give her a CBE for that? For achieving WHAT exactly?
She counts Theresa May as a friend. About says it all really.
I wish I’d never wasted my time trying to help this ghastly woman. She has no manners and her “charity” achieved nothing.
She is an utterly brazen woman. She once drank champagne out of a shoe at a party. Marie Antoinette would be proud.
Lady Meyer has done so much good work for missing and abducted children and she kindly supported dear Gerry and Kate McCann in their efforts to find their beloved daughter Madeleine McCann. I am most disappointed she has given up on the charity but I am sure she will now focus her efforts on helping the Find Madeleine campaign. It is imperative that it carries on and Steeples Times should be ashamed of itself for not doing more to help FIND MADELEINE, FIND HER NOW.
Gillian, can you name any abducted children that she helped to reunite with their parents? I am not being facetious, it’s a serious question, I would just like to be assured that the CBE was granted for actually achieving something.
A CBE is meant to be invested for tangible achievement. maybe there is something that we just don’t know about yet, can you enlighten me and probably most of the rest of the bemused British public?
Matthew
Can you please ban this crazy woman, she is so annoying.
BAN TROTT BAN HER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Little Rod touch.
I thought Trott was being sarcastic. No?
Sarcastic or not, she’s just a bloody annoying looney tunes.
Her beady eyed avarice and grasping greed from a Charitable organization has been a disgusting example of XXXXXXXXXXX . If you perform charitable works you are supposed to do it for FREE . That is Charity . This one XXXXXXXXXX for her own extravagance . A ghastly XXXXXXXXX woman.

Matthew, you know I love you dearly. I cannot comment on Lady Meyer’s performance with PACT. But… Having had the privilege of working alongside Gerry, and meeting Kate on several occasions, I have no doubt whatsoever that they know nothing of her disappearance. It says a lot for their marriage that they have survived the last nine years.
I guess the money helped. The doggies probably didn’t. Julia needs to Trott off and get fresh socks.
Matthew, will you please publish my earlier response? Jx
That is unwarranted and spiteful retort “Honest Guy”. However, I respect your limited opinion of my comment. . I have no need to hide behind a pseudonym but I am entitled to my own opinion. Is that not the very premise of The Steeple Times? I have no time for Lady M but I do feel for the McCann family. Oh, and by the by, my socks are as fresh as a daisy. Unlike your manners.
Julia: We always welcome your comments and just wish we saw you more often in reality. I hope you are keeping well my friend. X
Thanks, Matthew. I hope to see you soon now that my health is recovering. I did see AB recently and that was lovely. Xx
A great look, CEO of charity sips champers from a shoe, what a bloody joke.
Gillian Trott, you are a complete nutcase, like Charles says, can you name one abducted child she has helped to reunite with their family.
A CEO of a charity earning over 100 grand a year is nothing but a dam disgrace. Also who determines what a CEO should earn, oh that’s right, her husband was part of that decision wasn’t he.
CHARITY: The voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need.
Note the word, Voluntary here.
As for the CBE, it really just makes a mockery of that award, anybody who has received that honour must be wondering if they should hand it back.
