The Steeple Times’ horse racing tips with an analysis of the top tipsters and their selections for the Ebor Festival
Today marks day one of a highlight of the racing calendar, the Ebor Festival at York. Sporting Life describe it as “one of the most significant weeks of the summer programme” and with racing from Wednesday for four days, this is a chance to watch the likes of Willie Mullins and Aidan O’Brien battle it out.
Our tipping selection for Wednesday follows:
Obvious Options
Sir Michael Stoute and Frankie Dettori are the ‘must watch’ combo and with Logician at EVS in the 3pm and the widely backed King Of Comedy at 7/2 in the 3.35pm, they most definitely have a great chance to bring home a double.
Darker Horses
We are following Radio 4’s tips today given they’ve been performing so well of late.
We suggest following their lead and taking an each way bet on Jabbarockie at 18/1 in the 1.55pm. Of this “solid type,” the Racing Post says: “Consistent and steadily progressive this season; made all for an emphatic success at Musselburgh (5f, good) most recently; now 7lb higher and upped in class… Can’t be dismissed.”
Later in the 4.50pm, we also like the Hayley Turner ridden Otago at 20/1 even if he’s drifted from 14/1 earlier this morning. A half-brother to Musical Comedy, the Racing Post remarks: “Profile suggests he well come on so [a] bold show wouldn’t surprise.”
