Reading racist

Section:

Mike Read’s UKIP Calypso song has rightly been withdrawn

Though the former BBC Radio 1 DJ Mike Read has requested that his UKIP Calypso song be withdrawn from sale, the mere fact that it was ever released speaks volumes as to what he and UKIP really stand for.

Sung in a mock Caribbean accent, the song is full of ranting references to immigrants and even ridiculously suggests that Nigel Farage could find himself in Downing Street one day. It mocks David Cameron, George Osborne and Jean-Claude Juncker and features lines such as: “With the EU we must be on our mettle/Want to change our lawnmowers and our kettles”.

Mike Read has brought disgrace upon himself by singing this stupid song and that UKIP were so keen to promote it shows this party for what it truly is: A bunch of bigoted buffoons.

    1. Where on earth has everyone’s sense of humour gone lately? There is absolutely nothing racist or bigoted about the track and mocking has always been part of the British sense of humour. Those mocked usually respond in equal measure. Shortly we will cease to communicate at all for fear of causing offence to one group or another.

And actually I do want to keep my lawnmower and kettle and resent the EU telling me whether or not I can.

    2. I was so shocked and disgusted by this blatantly racist song that I have cut my planned donation from £1 million to just £999,000. Let that that be a lesson to the racist UKIP

    3. Nothing is ever really new

Does anyone remember The Monster Raving Loonies Jamaican potentential shadow Home Secretary…..who when asked what the MRL Party were going to do about defence; replied that they we were going to creosote de fence……
