Bored with Assange

Section:

Julian Assange’s latest attempt to manipulate the media backfires

On Tuesday, Julian Assange defiantly stood on the balcony of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London as he showed the American scholar and activist Noam Chomsky the view of the police operation outside. In posing for yet another cheap publicity shot and sticking his fingers up again at the justice system, all this arrogant man actually achieved was to show himself for what he truly is.

Over three months ago, Assange announced he’d be saying goodbye to his Ecuadorian refuge “soon” but obviously that, just like Tuesday’s balcony appearance, was an example of his desperation to keep his name in the media. Any excuse will do and that this individual hasn’t the courage to face the perfectly reasonable justice systems of Britain and Sweden about says it all.

As 2015 grows ever nearer, Julian Assange should realise that people are bored with his posturing. Few in the media bothered to report on Tuesday’s photoshoot and now it is time for something simple to happen: Julian Assange needs to hand himself in.

    1. There’s no doubt you are right about him having to face up to these charges in Sweden but considering we are living in a world where the motives of world leaders and politicians must always be questioned, who would guarantee his safety? The reality is that this could be a ploy to assassinate him or lock him away for a very long time, and not necessarily for the rape he is accused of. They guy is losing sympathy but if he really is not guilty of the crime he is accused of then he will know there is an ulterior motive for getting him out of the Ecuadorian Embassy. If he is guilty that’s an entirely different matter.

    2. There is NOTHING “Perfectly reasonable” about the justice systems of either Britain or Sweden when they are both dancing to the U.S.A.’s corrupt tune……… One cannot be THAT naive………?!
