Wally of the Week: Champagne swiller Dawn Ward

ITVBe’s ‘The Real Housewives of Cheshire’s’ Dawn Ward provides an example of all that is wrong with ‘new wealth’ of her type

Dawn Ward is tackiness personified but frankly it isn’t her fault. This poor, tawdry woman simply doesn’t know better and that she made a complete fool of herself in an interview in The Mirror this week wasn’t surprising.

Dawn Ward
Dawn Ward is a woman who would do well to learn the virtues of silence

Mrs Ward, interviewed by a plainly as equally stupid reporter named Clemmie Moodie, made comments such as:

“I don’t do Prosecco, babe, only the real stuff. I have a gag reflex if anyone tries to hand me a glass of that s***”.

The WAG’s husband Ashley – who lives with her in a mansion currently for sale for the somewhat ludicrously ambitious price of £12 million – added:

“If you could find her another drink I’d be grateful. I recently worked out her annual champagne wage bill and it wasn’t pretty… She literally won’t drink anything else”.

Dawn Ward is certainly no Lily Bollinger but our Wally of the Week has certainly decided to take her views on champagne consumption to heart. Madame Bollinger once famously remarked of the sparkling wine:

“I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it – unless I’m thirsty”.
