Appointed Secretary of Education by 45th President of United States of America Donald Trump, mother of four Betsy DeVos has no degree, no teaching experience, never attended university and believes in only Christian-based education. The daughter of a billionaire industrialist and the sister of the founder of the disgraced private military company Blackwater (that was responsible for the death of 17 civilians in Iraq), DeVos did, however, donate $9.5 million to Trump’s campaign. She was described by Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, as “the most ideological, anti-public nominee [ever]” but has unsurprisingly been lauded by Jeb Bush and Newt Gingrich. Betsy DeVos has over 45,000 followers on Twitter and bizarrely believes that “guns should be allowed in schools threatened by grizzly bears”.
