As London’s temperature rises, lightning strikes
Last night, London was hit by an electric storm and today the city’s temperature is expected to hit 33°C. It will be hotter here than Barbados and Mauritius and air pollution risks are said to be high.


Our Picture of the Week – taken from the Evening Standard – is of the city’s skyline last night. The image shows an electrical storm that resulted from the so-called “Spanish plume” that has hit the South East in recent days. It is truly spectacular.

With many away on holiday, London is certainly quiet but those who remain should bask in the sunshine today. “Stormy conditions” are expected by Saturday.
