Picture of the Week – Trump’s Way

Section:

Donald Trump achieves his “beautiful moment”

Undoubtedly the biggest upset in modern history, yesterday’s appointment of Donald Trump as 45th President of the United States of America brought with it joy for a few and terror for most.

Our Picture of the Week shows Trump at the moment when the reality of him as leader of the free world must have most firmly struck. Here, pictured dancing with his wife Melania at the Salute to Our Armed Forces gala at the National Building Museum in Washington, Trump finally cemented himself into a role many believed he’d never achieve.

His wife told the assembled audience she was “honoured” to become First Lady, but Trump himself went further. “Now the fun begins”, he remarked, before adding: “It’s beautiful, it’s beautiful”.
