Those who deserve them get the odd decoration or two. Sometimes those that don’t get them too. Fred got shredded of his ‘K’ yet a certain person got a CBE for “services to children and families” despite uproar following a series of articles in the Daily Telegraph and elsewhere about the finances of the very charity they ran.
