    A Pintless Policy

Matthew Steeples slams ‘Bosie The Clown’s’ pub destroying lockdown; 7 out of 10 pubs are likely to close as a result and the nation will be left pintless

This morning, the Guardian shockingly reported that seven out of ten British pubs could close as a result of ‘Carrie On Not So Regardless’ and her puppet ‘Bosie The Berk’s’ plainly pointless “damaging Covid-19 restrictions.”

Shamefully, in spite of research finding that 82% of pubgoers believing “that pubs and other hospitality venues offered a Covid-secure environment,” the likelihood of them reopening after the 2nd December seems low with each and every leak from our inept government.

This morning, with Tory minister Ben Wallace deservedly sparking the fury of Sky News’ Kay Burley after his failure to even justify ‘Lockdown 2.0’ as a success, the government needs to do just one thing: Put an end to the pointless policies that are going to leave our nation pintless.

  • Hero of the Hour – Marcus Rashford MBE

Hero of the Hour – Marcus Rashford MBE

As the public quite rightly rubbish a disgraceful ‘Mail on Sunday’ diatribe against the campaigning footballer Marcus Rashford, he responds with dignity and launches a book club

Two days ago, The Mail on Sunday’s Andy Buckwell and Max Aitchison launched what was this morning termed “a sinister attack on a young black man” by Jonathan Liew in the Guardian.

In their frankly completely irrelevant and unnecessary diatribe, Buckwell and Aitchison banged on about how the school meal campaigning footballer Marcus Rashford MBE had bought “five luxury homes” with mortgages “from the Queen’s bank, Coutts.”

Pointedly, aside from these perfectly legitimate buy-to-let investments, the pair trivially carped on about Rashford trademarking his name in the US and quite rightly of this Liew responded: “Virtually none of this is really anyone’s business.”

Aside from the fact that Rashford has done nothing illegal, one would have thought The Mail on Sunday could have put their resources to use instead to investigate the allegations of huge tax avoidance against the House of Commons Leader, Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Given that one Maureen Fitzsimmons’ tweet about that has been liked by 22,200 individuals and retweeted 7,900 times, one could suggest that newsworthy, but since Rees-Mogg’s activities are not much different to those of the Mail’s very own proprietor Viscount Rothermere’s very own tax affairs, they wouldn’t be wanting to touch that with a barge pole.

Elsewhere this morning, humble and decent Marcus Rashford – whom responded to the Buckwell and Aitchison jamboree by quite rightly stating: “Ok, so let’s address this. I’m 23. I came from little. I need to protect not just my future but my family’s too. To do that I made a decision at the beg [SIC] of 2020 to start investing more in property. Please don’t run stories like this alongside refs to ‘campaigning.’” – announced plans to launch a book club. Unsurprisingly, the Mail showed very little interest in that.

  • Randy’s Anniversary

    Randy’s Anniversary

EXCLUSIVE – On the first anniversary of ‘Randy Andy’ Prince Andrew’s juggernaut wreck BBC interview about Jeffrey Epstein, authors Nigel Cawthorne and Kirby Sommers share their thoughts with ‘The Steeple Times’ reports Matthew Steeples

Exactly one year ago this evening, Prince Andrew no doubt sat down in an armchair with his batshit bonkers live-in ex-wife ‘Fergie’ onside ready to heap congratulations upon his chubby ego. The telly box centre stage in Royal Lodge, the toe sucking lover was no doubt whacking back a vat or ten of bubbles and munching on a sledge of sausages. Boringly, the non-sweater was likely just dribbling into a Diet Coke.

Pizza Express junkie ‘Randy Andy’ – whom also counts Goga Ashkenazi, Bernie Ecclestone and Tarek Kaituni amongst his curious collection of cash tin collector chums – probably smugly anticipated facing the media the next morning to “draw a line under [his] links to the wealthy paedophile” Jeffrey Epstein. He perhaps expected an army of adoration and a flurry of forgiveness from the nation, but what happened next proved to be the beginning of his decidedly deserved downfall.

Speaking to The Steeple Times exclusively to mark the first anniversary of the Duke of York’s juggernaut wreck of an interview with Emily Maitlis for the BBC, Kirby Sommers, an activist, feminist, author and sex slave survivor, remarked:

“What has been fascinating one year after the disastrous interview Prince Andrew gave to the BBC is that Ghislaine Maxwell did not make a public statement of any sort in his defence. My take on this is not just an on-going acceptance that he lied and in fact did have sex with Virginia Giuffre, a trafficked victim of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, but that in addition to this: Maxwell would face a second slander lawsuit from Giuffre should she claim ‘Virginia is lying about Prince Andrew and nothing happened.’ Maxwell settled the first defamation lawsuit with Giuffre in 2017.”

“Prince Andrew’s ill-advised interview showed the world he depended on Jeffrey Epstein for financial advice and introductions on Wall Street. It appears he received additional perks from his friendship with Epstein. Furthermore, it is painfully clear to all who follow this case that Ghislaine Maxwell was not the ‘plus one’ the prince claimed her to be. His friendship with Epstein appears to have been more important than any previous relationship he may have had with Maxwell.”

“It is also apparent there are forces at work to continue to keep Prince Andrew from admitting guilt. His name was redacted in the documents that were just released from the Giuffre v Maxwell lawsuit. It is, however, in keeping with the methodology: his name, if you recall, was asked not to be mentioned by a judge in lawsuits against Jeffrey Epstein.”

“His popularity has disappeared. His name is scorned. The palace has even removed his Twitter handle from their website and souvenirs bearing his likeness from their gift shop.”

“What has to happen at this point is Prince Andrew must take responsibility for his actions. He cannot continue to be a pampered child as he approaches his 61st birthday. If not for himself, if not for his children, if not for Virginia Giuffre, then he must do so for the monarchy.”

Adding his thoughts and sharing his extensive knowledge on this first anniversary, Nigel Cawthorne, author of Prince Andrew: Epstein, Maxwell and the Palace, told The Steeple Times late Sunday:

“What do you do if you shoot yourself in the foot in front of millions of people and you are a soldier at heart? This was Prince Andrew’s night-time puzzle a year ago. You march on and hope that you won’t ambush yourself again, he must have thought.”

“Unfortunately, the prince was not blessed with good luck. He scored another own body blow when his words angered the US Attorney investigating Epstein’s sex ring so much that the full force of US legal power abroad was deployed to try and get the prince’s testimony.”

“Since the prince is his own worst enemy, there really is no telling what will happen next. Although November 2020 is only the anniversary of the interview, the palace’s ‘Epstein Affair’ has been gathering momentum for almost a decade. It has been so spectacularly mishandled that it could go any which way at this point, which makes it a far absorbing drama than Meghan and Harry’s even if the backdrop couldn’t be more tawdry.”

“Is he the typical – and now much maligned – middle-aged white male relying on privilege as Epstein’s victims say, or a victim of the victims as he has solidly maintained throughout? Andrew has consistently categorically denied all allegations against him. Though soon a grandfather, the prince is unlikely voluntarily to hang up his crown any time soon.”

Likely to lose all his titles by the end of the year, Prince Andrew’s ‘annus horribilis’ is complete. The Queen is supposedly not talking to him and now the cryptically coded message we published in January from The Times (which again follows below and which could indeed have been from Ghislaine Maxwell perhaps) now likely will prove true. No more “good wishes” need follow after this anniversary.

    In Memoriam – Private

TO ANDREW THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

Did you ever love someone deeply, and out they didn’t love you?

Did you ever feel they weren’t kind to you, and wonder what you should do?

Did you ever blindly trust in love, but your love didn’t want to stay?

Love only causes problems, it happens every day

You wonder how they can sleep at night

You wonder how they can feel delight

You wonder how love could ever feel light

When you are left weighed down by fright

Love hurts so much, the price you pay is high

Choosing between love and death, I’d much prefer to die

Take my advice, don’t fall in love, you’ll get hurt before it’s through

You see, I ought to know, I fell in love with you.

Pictured top: Prior to his disastrous interview, ‘Air Miles Andy’ used to jet around the world smirking with foreign dignitaries and dodgy dictators. He must truly miss those jollies and especially all that jetting. Now, on the anniversary of this juggernaut wreck, this smug sop finds himself nothing other than a social pariah.

    The Calamities Carrie On

Ghislaine Maxwell was involved in the charity Carrie Symonds works for; Dominic Cummings’ nemesis also has an ex-lover with links to Russia and the far right, racist Traditional Britain Group

When she’s not furiously texting 25 missives per hour to her lapdog on-off lover Boris Johnson or forcing him to get rid of his puppet master Dominic Cummings, Carrie Symonds finds time to be a senior advisor and member of staff at Oceana – a curiously funded operation that describes itself as “the largest international advocacy organisation focused solely on ocean conservation.”

Fascinatingly, mucky madam Ghislaine Maxwell also has links to Oceana and hosted a cocktail party for their benefit at her East 65th Street residence in 2008 according to The Cut even.

Jailbird paedo procurer Maxwell’s interest in the oceans is well-known via her now defunct TerraMar Project – which operated with the motto: “Sea Hope. Sea Change. Sea Future” and is now being accused of allegedly being part of her and Epstein’s trafficking activities – but, today, we remind readers that the British Prime Minister’s wine chucking latest baby mama has other curious connections.

In October 2019, The Steeple Times followed up on The Sun’s story of Symonds’ “emotionally charged” and “tumultuous” previous relationship with a character named Oliver Haiste and revealed his connections to a curious Russian hoax news operation and association with members of the extremely bigoted, far-right Traditional Britain Group.

‘The Lady Macbeth of Downing Street’ may well think she won against Cummings as he marched out of Downing Street Street with his box last night, but here was just the first skirmish of a battle. The true war is yet to come and whether ‘Conniving Carrie’ and her cretinous clown will still be in residence by Christmas remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure next: Red wine on the sofa at the ready, The Carrie On Show is most certainly going to most unpleasantly kick off very, very soon.

    The Wonders of Walking

Axminster gym owner Aneesa California is wrong to announce she and upto 200 others will defy the lockdown rules; the nation should instead get its walking shoes on during Lockdown 2

We all need exercise and we’re all going to need to ensure we keep fit during the impending lockup-lockdown, but as the late great legend that was Dr. Thomas Stuttaford rightly pointed out in The Times regularly, we should remember that “walking every day is the route to fitness.”

Gyms, on the other hand and contrary to a myth created to bamboozle the masses into parting with membership fees, are not ‘essential’ and news that upto 200 owners of such premises are going to defy the rules from tomorrow is actually not to be encouraged.

Going further of his theory in 2004, the ‘Good Doctor’ quite sensibly remarked: “The emphasis on gyms, sports stadiums and workouts is well intentioned but perhaps not the way to ensure a healthier Briton. The way to living longer and to be healthier and athletically fitter into old age is to take regular steady exercise every day. Twenty minutes to half an hour’s brisk walk a day — preferably all in one go — is enough.”

The Wonders of Walking – The late Dr. Thomas Stuttaford (1931 – 2018) was a well-known proponent of walking being the best form of exercise.

The Wonder of Walking – Aneesa California (pictured with her husband Jesse) would do well to heed the comments of Professor Jonathan Ball rather than defy the rules. She could, instead, for now, encourage her clients to take up walking and could perhaps get them on the path to pavement pounding.

Whilst nobody rational is celebrating ‘Bosie The Clown’s’ decision to close anywhere that generates employment and again today we most vehemently raise our objections to the shuttering of socially distanced restaurant spaces, for example, gym owner Aneesa California should not be congratulated for her announcement that she will likely refuse to close her doors.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk yesterday, “defiant” Ms. California remarked:

“Absolutely [we will stay open]… I’m in contact with around two hundred gym owners across the UK and we’re all having a discussion on [staying open] as we speak.”

“Obviously Parliament has to vote on this between now and Thursday, but we’re all pushing and applying pressure on our MPs to back us in classing us as essential.”

“‘I wouldn’t say it’s breaking the law, it’s guidance, everything they have said is guidance… We are going to take a financial impact, but this is not about money.”

“I’m in touch with legal aid and other people regarding fines, which I’m willing to pay, but, right now, we’re not breaking any law.”

Elsewhere yesterday, the BBC Radio 1 analysed the facts about “gyms and coronavirus.” In a report by Christian Hewgill and Eleanor Roper for Newsbeat, virologist Professor Jonathan Ball of the University of Nottingham was quoted. He quite sensibly stated:

“You do tend to exercise quite vigorously [in gyms], that means that you can breathe rapidly and quite deeply. Therefore, we’d expect that you could potentially produce droplets or aerosols that could go on to infect other people.”

“There’s always a risk that you might interact with someone who’s infected [without either of you knowing] and that allows the virus to transmit.”

Now readers, here’s a call to action for the coming month: Get your walking shoes on and pound those pavements.

  • Word of the Week – Coronacoaster

Word of the Week – Coronacoaster

As we face the next lockup-lockdown, a new word that will come to greater prominence is “coronacoaster” – ride it at your peril and instead try out our gin suggestions

Shared on Instagram by Emma Farah, our word of the week had to be ‘coronacoaster.’

Defined as a noun meaning “the ups and downs of the pandemic. One day you’re loving your bubble, doing work outs, baking banana bread and going out for long walks and the next you’re crying, drinking gin for breakfast and missing people you don’t even like.”

Elsewhere on Medium.com in an article titled ‘Riding the coronacoaster,’ a Houston based therapist named Kirsten Suleman suggested the word to mean: “The ups and downs of a pandemic; the feeling of uncertainty, anxiety, and helplessness surveying news and information concerning humankind’s possible demise from COVID-19” and now as England likely faces lockup-lockdown again courtesy of the bumbling, bungling buffoon ‘Bosie The Clown,’ here is a rollercoaster that nobody is going to welcome.

Whilst Suleman suggests people take up “journaling” in “spiral notebooks,” we prefer the alternative suggestion of gin so today here are a few of our favourites that you should add to your lockup-lockdown drinks trolley.

    No. 3 Gin London Dry

Word of the Week – Coronacoaster – Combat it with gin – As we face the next lockup-lockdown, a new word that will come to greater prominence is “coronacoaster” – ride it at your peril and instead try out our gin suggestions. This “authentic [44% ABV] coastal spirit” has notes of samphire and bog myrtle. Hints of salt shine through. It’s a catch and once reeled in, it’ll become a keeper.

    Gilpin’s Westmorland Extra Dry

47% ABV, from the Lake District and featuring a fresh aroma balanced with a dry yet bitter resinous taste. Not for the faint hearted.

  • Bog Off Bungling Boris

    Bog Off Bungling Boris

Matthew Steeples suggests now is time for bungling Boris Johnson to quit; he is not in control and he has no coordinated plan for Brexit or coronavirus

Boris Johnson hates his job. That is plain given this showman has never been one for detail and whilst our sources tell us he’ll be gone by Christmas, I’d put money on this chaotic cretin sadly limping on into the spring.

Slammed even in the crusading From The Hornets Nest blog this week as “a liability,” “a buffoon,” “a music hall turn” and a man of “muddled thinking” Johnson’s disastrous handling of the Marcus Radford/free school meals debacle shows him as beyond out of touch.

As FTHN quite rightly highlighted, Johnson’s decision to pose with a fat laden sausage sandwich during a visit to a Reading hospital with Prue Leith this week is indicative of his ridiculousness at a time when he should be focused on fighting obesity rather than encouraging it.

Whilst the departure of ‘Bosie The Clown’ would be very much welcomed given his thus far completely disastrous handling of both Brexit and coronavirus, who would come next? Rishi ‘King of the Bailout’ Sunak plainly wants the job, but is he upto it?

  • Junk the Junk Mail

    Junk the Junk Mail

Matthew Steeples suggests that instead of banning people from enjoying themselves, the government should do something useful and ban a genuine disease spreader: Junk mail

Tonight, our totally inept government sends London into a tier two lockdown that will preposterously allow citizens to meet people from other households in a garden but not indoors.

Aside from the fact that that seems as likely to reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus as closing restaurants at 9.59pm instead of 10.59pm, the government’s “do this but don’t do this actually” approach has not only been poorly communicated, but will also do nothing but further damage our car wreck of an economy.

One thing, however, that would be useful at this time would be a ban on the blight that is distribution of junk mail. This morning my household, just as would any other in my neighbourhood, received three items of such through my door promoting a building firm, a taxi service and a pizza delivery.

Given that the three people delivering these three items no doubt touched the doors and letterboxes of hundreds of houses on their rounds as well as each leaflet individually, one can sensibly suggest that the risk of contamination if one of them were a disease carrier to be immense.

If the coronavirus crackpot Boris Johnson had an ounce of sense he’d immediately ban junk mail and its delivery. Not only would the nation and its letterboxes thank such, so would the trees depleted in its wasteful creation.

Like sheep we’re being herded towards another lockdown. Our Prime Minister doesn’t dare force us into the pen in one fell swoop, so like the true coward that this miserable cretin is, Bosie The Clown is beginning by slamming closed the doors of bars, pubs and restaurants from 10pm tonight.

Of this strange move (and remember it is not 10pm last orders, but 10pm lights out), one London restaurant owner – who quite rightly wished to remain anonymous given the snitch culture that he expects to start tonight from busybody neighbours and over zealous police officers – told The Steeple Times that though he will abide by the rules, he could not understand the reasoning for them. He commented:

“Why 10pm? Why are bars, pubs and restaurants lumped together? A restaurant with social distancing should be allowed to trade normal hours. Restaurants are primarily about dining rather than drinking and eating involves sitting at tables and not moving. Since seating can be managed and guests can be controlled, what difference does getting rid of them before 10pm or 12 midnight make to the virus? Not much, but what difference does it make to the business… The answer: The fine line between profit and loss.”

Another, the owner of a busy bar and dining spot, added:

“This is another blow to an already damaged sector. We effectively will now have to take last orders for food at around 8.30pm and as 20% of our custom for dinks comes post 10pm, our business just won’t work. That this is going to be in place over our busiest period, Christmas, and for 6 months minimum is a killer. Will we last? I don’t know, but if we close completely, I will have to let 34 people go.”

Just as with the ludicrous rule of seven children not being allowed to gather to feed a duck, whilst thirty men can assemble to shoot it, here is a new draconian imposition that will inevitably not actually achieve anything except damage to the already crippled hospitality sector.

Coronavirus is spreading not because people are dining and drinking in carefully arranged spaces, but more so in care homes and student housing. The numbers suggest that it is the old and the young that are the primary ‘superspreaders’ and not in fact middle aged restaurant goers.

Moving from ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ to ‘Drink Up and Piss Off’ is, in my view, simply stage one of further restrictions on our freedom and a death knell for a significant contributing sector of the economy. We must call out this rudderless government’s totalitarian tactic for what it is and rise up and resist it. Now is the time to support your local venues – but remember: Go early, go often and watch out for the snitches in your midst.

    Neighbours from Hell

As Priti Patel is slammed by her neighbours as a ‘snitch,’ the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are voted “the famous couple Brits would least like to live next door to” along with Boris Johnson and Kerry Katona

Priti Patel – a wicked wench whom dislikes “minglin” (could someone teach her to pronounce the missing ‘g’?) – was quite rightly slammed as a snake and a snitch earlier this week for stating she’d report her neighbours if they had gatherings of more than six.

With one of the very people living next door to her stating to the Guardian: “I would live and let live in the first place” and adding: “[The government has] made a pig’s ear of the while job” of the ‘rule of six,’ this ludicrous woman was deservedly told “there are more important things to worry about than dobbing in your neighbour.”

Patel, quite frankly, is a petulant pest nobody in their right mind would want to live in the proximity of, but even more amusingly The Sun reported the Duke and Duchess of Susex have been named “the worst neighbours” possible by Brits in a survey by the charity fundraising site Omaze.

Elsewhere, Business Times reported that “Harry and Markle’s neighbours in Montecito are ‘super annoyed’ about the deluge of paparazzi in their once peaceful town. According to TMZ, photographers and tabloid press reporters circle in helicopters around the neighborhood up to four times a day just to catch the Sussexes in public places.”

Others unsurprisingly hitting the Omaze list were Gemma Collins, Boris Johnson and Kerry Katona, but most surprisingly the woman whose cakes have made the nation chubby Mary Berry was listed amongst those people would actually like to live next door to. What on earth would they want from her? Free cakes?
