Stuart Hall’s fall will be complete today when he is sentenced at Preston Crown Court in relation to 14 counts of indecent assault. A prison sentence is inevitable and it will be much deserved.

Yesterday’s Daily Star reported that the former It’s A Knockout presenter is suspected of yet more offences in both the UK and Spain. It is unlikely that these will now be pursued but the outcome of today’s hearing will mark an important landmark in the fallout from the Jimmy Savile scandal. Mr Hall deserves the harshest punishment possible.
