Milo YiannopoulosOnce described as a “cynical, ignorant f**ker” by Stephen Fry, Milo Yiannopoulos is a gay, Roman Catholic, Greek writer who suggested that “once you get to the Mediterranean the ‘every hole’s a goal’ mentality kicks in” in an Breitbart article titled “I’ve worked it out: ISIS is a gay death cult” in March 2015. With over 50,000 followers across two Twitter accounts, @Caligula and @Nero, this “cross between a pit bull and Oscar Wilde” isn’t afraid to speak his mind and “collects enemies like carrier bags”. In 2009, Yiannopoulos was criticised for tweeting that he hoped the police “beat the shit out of [the] w***ers” at the G20 protests” just before a newspaper vendor named Ian Tomlinson was killed and in 2013 found himself described as “patronising” by the singer Will Young on Newsnight. He is a devotee of the pop singer Mariah Carey and organised a moonwalk flash mob tribute to Michael Jackson in London’s Liverpool Street station in 2009.
