Jill DandoSomerset born Jill Dando was the greatly respected presenter of the BBC’s Crimewatch between 1995 and 1999. A devout Baptist and “down-to-earth” Fulham resident, Dando unsuccessfully tried to get BBC bosses to investigate an alleged paedophile ring within the organisation in the mid-1990s and was subsequently shot dead outside her home. Over £1.5 million was raised in her memory to establish The Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science at University College London and whilst her true killer has never been apprehended, the alleged cover-up of her death may finally one day be unearthed.
