Con-artists come from diverse backgrounds. They may come from a broken home and sometimes from stable and well-adjusted families. They may have had an excellent education, or none. So backgrounds do not set them apart. These individuals usually display a lack of conscience and empathy towards others.
Nor are they set apart by their country of origin, sexual preferences,religious beliefs, or ingrained social values. Actually, pertaining to those last three, the con artist is a free spirit. His or her own personal welfare far outweighs standard social considerations.
A state of reduced, suspended sensibility and mental numbness caused by illicit drug use, allowed the Grillo sisters to take advantage of the situation.
Celebrities have in the past attempted to justify and normalise the use of illicit drugs, by claiming it has no effect on the ability to be productive in a chosen career. They must think again. Lawson and Saatchi have been taken for a hell of a ride. The Grillo sisters are having a laugh, and so the Jury in this case.
That is an opinion but the law thought otherwise.
A outcome that is popular with the public is required in very high profile cases. As a Mayor of Los Angeles once said to the Sheriff “Get me a conviction, and don’t let something ridiculous as innocence get in your way” The law was politicized by Tony Blair when New Labour came in power in 1997.
I fear Chaim is correct…..the jury were swayed by quite out of control media coverage. Lawyers should not be allowed to use the media to affect the judgement of often unsophisticated juries. And that is what seems to have happened.

I dont know all thedetails of the story,but I cannot understand how this dodgy sisters duo got away with theft . It is also baffling that Saatchi did not engege in proper due diligence before hiring them .
It is worrying that the jury got shayed by the press frenzy and also it smells of rancor against the “rich” employers-victims. I cannot see how the law was properly applied in this case , there was ample evidence to convict the fraudsters.
But again the Saatchi household is paying the price for negligently hiring and even worse trusting budding mafiosas..Actually saatchi and lawson got off lightly.. calabrian mafia is the most powerful and terrifying .It could have been a much worse rip-off..
