Donald Trump’s campaign to become President of the United States of America goes awry
Not content with having described all Mexicans as “rapists”, wannabe President of the United States of America Donald Trump has now declared himself as “the only candidate in this race who cannot be bought” and also announced he plans to sue Univison for breach of contract and defamation after they reneged on a five-year contract for broadcast rights to the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants.
Trump, who now also claims he “didn’t love [Rockin’ In The Free World] anyway” of the Neil Young music he played during his 16th June announcement, however, is winning over Republicans and now finds himself second only to Jeb Bush in two polls in New Hampshire.
Elsewhere on Thursday, NBC distanced themselves from Trump and issued a statement that read: “Donald Trump’s opinions do not represent those of NBC, and we do not agree with his positions on a number of issues, including his recent comments on immigration”.
Trump responded by accusing the media of taking his original comments out of comment and remarked:
“I am personally offended by the mainstream media’s attempt to distort my comments regarding Mexico and its great people. I have many successful business relationships with Mexican companies and employ, and am close friends with, many Mexican people … I do great with Latino voters. I employee so many Latinos, I have so many people working for me. The Latinos love Trump, and I Iove them”.
Donald Trump has failed to realise that to be successful in politics one has to build bridges and relationships rather than simply adopt the approach of storming into every situation with a wrecking ball. He may as well give up but of course he won’t: His ego simply wouldn’t allow it.
