The twice married daughter of the actress Rita Heyworth and Prince Aly Khan was married to the Greek economist and shipping heir Basil Embiricos between 1985 and 1987. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan was born in Lausanne, Switzerland and educated in Massachusetts and Geneva. She has become renowned for raising awareness of Alzheimer’s disease through her annual Rita Heyworth Gala in New York and since she began the event in 1983, she has raised over $61 million (£37.2 million). Princess Yasmin Aga Khan’s son, Andrew Embiricos, tragically committed suicide in December 2011.
