I would say that is quite obvious Madeleline. The SmallWorld grew to be too big and that is exactly why people like me left. If he invites all of the ASW members, all he’ll get is more of the same. When it started in 2004, ASW was a community that had all manner of things in common. By 2006 even, it had become too big and frankly was not as pleasant as the early days. I am not sure of Erik’s aims but if he recreates what he did early on, it will be a mammoth success.
Those early ASW parties were great fun.

I liked ASW in the old days. The posts of Michael Ezra, Emma Gibbs, David Reuben, Caroline Monk, William Aitken, D’Arcy Wyvill, John James, Imogen Lloyd Webber, Emma Rogers, etc were all highlights. I hope the new site embraces this spirit.
I recall the days when aSmallWorld was LARGE. In those days, there was this chap who thought he gave Donald Trump a lesson in manners. It didn’t go down too well and most people thought he should calm down and have a glass of Chablis.
I think the day the site went downhill can be pinpointed to when someone mentioned that they thought that the cost of a magnum of Cristal in Tramp was a bit too pricey. This was sometime in June 2005. After that it sort of became embarrassing to admit to being a member.
Anybody who is an active member of aSmallWorld in 2012 simply does not deserve an invite to anything more than a birthday party at McDonald’s.
