This one time billionaire subsequently became one of the world’s fastest destroyers of wealth after being listed as being worth -$1.2 billion by CNBC in February 2015. A Brazilian business magnate and graduate of the University of Aachen in Germany, Eike Batista was listed as the seventh richest man in the world in 2012 by Forbes. He was married to the Brazilian carnival queen and Playboy cover girl Luma de Oliveira between 1991 and 2004 and has 1.33 million followers on Twitter. Of the loss of his fortune, Batista commented: “My cash flow is all gone, but I still have the shares. I’m negative at about $1 billion, but the stocks will be worth more in the future. As I have debt negotiated with all my creditors within the next 10 years, I am working towards the creation of more value and, should God allow it, in five or ten years there will be something left for me. So I am now an assets manager working under a juggernaut”.

I’d never heard of him. Just started watching the interview. What a great shame it ended like this for a man who plainly has a great brain. Plainly a South American equivalent of Donald Trump but without the silly hair do.
Eike Batista did not just damage, through his recklessness, his own fortune he did huge damage to Brazil’s invesrment reputation. What a show off
For a man that’s just lost a couple of billion bucks he sure looks happy.
