A new investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is all very well but given the colossal costs involved and the fact that many other children are missing, is it right that so many resources continue to be devoted to this case?
Funded directly by the Home Office and brought about with the direct intervention of David Cameron, this latest investigation may well lead to a resolution of this case but we somehow doubt it.
