Appeal launched to find a parrot that whistles the EastEnders theme tune that has gone missing in Kent

Readers based in London’s Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea will no doubt have seen the area’s famous ‘Parrot Man’. In Herne Bay, Kent, an equally well-known parrot that loves to mimic the EastEnders tune named Monty has gone missing.

In an advertisement placed on Gumtree, the 15-year parrot’s owners David Hampton and Janet Walder are appealing for Monty’s safe return with a £700 reward. They state:

There are tunes we whistle, he does one line, we do the next and so on… He loves grapes, toast with lots of butter and even chicken. He pretends to pull his claws out when he is asking for something”.
