It is a disgrace that Oscar Pistorius is to be released after serving just 10 months for slaying Reeva Steenkamp
News that Oscar Pistorius is to be released from jail next week after serving just ten months of a five year sentence for killing his girlfriend, the model Reeva Steenkamp, is illustration of only one thing and that is that life is cheap.
Pistorius – who has been described as having “behaved well” during his stint in the clink – will be freed on Friday 21st August and though he will be subject to a number of parole conditions, news that he will be a free man no doubt piles yet more trauma on Miss Steenkamp’s parents.

In a recently released letter, the Steenkamps commented:
“We do not seek to avenge her death and we do not want Mr Pistorius to suffer; that will not bring her back to us. However, a person found guilty of a crime must be held accountable for their actions”.
“Statistics show that our society is under continuous attack from criminals and murderers. Incarceration of 10 months for taking a life is simply not enough”.
“We fear that this will not send out the proper message and serve as the deterrent it should”.

I know someone in the UK who served 10 months for breaching a court order that disallowed her from going near or contacting her own child. The mother who I know well (!!) saw her daughter and spoke to her and bingo… mother locked up. The differences of judicial decisions really do vary from country to country. One has to wonder if Oscar Pistorius is a threat to society and women in general, and my conclusion would be, he is. I would not want any of my daughters to go near him. On the other hand the locked up mother was not a threat to anyone including her own children! It’s all scary and very bizarre.
Outrageous .This is a criminally irresponsible decision. Bad news for South Africa ‘s legal system. Obviously, not a fair and rule of law respecting judiciary. Why was not te release decision not appealed against?

Oscar Pistorius is a narcissist, he will not learn from this experience, like OJ Simpson he will continue with his conduct disorder and destructive ways. His Public Relations team can spin until they are blue in their faces, this boy has no remorse.
