The daughter of a film producer and born in Maidenhead, Tina Brown was considered “an extremely subversive influence” and expelled from three boarding schools as a child. Married to the former editor of The Sunday Times Sir Harold Evans, Tina Brown has two children and became a US citizen in 2005. Having held senior positions at Tatler, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, she founded The Daily Beast in 2008 and set up Tina Brown Live Media in 2010 to produce “summits, salons, flash forums and debates”. She has over 80,000 followers on Twitter and of her style once stated: “I’m trying to be entertaining without being mean”.
