Their story is a modern day equivalent of that of Romeo and Juliet and Vanity Fair chronicled their deaths as The Golden Suicides. “Handsome” Blake, a digital artist and painter who worked with Malcolm McLaren and Fox Searchlight, and “sexy” Duncan, a writer, game designer and filmmaker best known for the “girl-centric” game Chop Suey, were the toast of New York but became obsessed with those they felt threatened them and their works. Personally wounded by a rejection from the post-modern rocker Beck to work with her on making a film out of one of her scripts, Duncan blamed his church, the Church of Scientology, and stated: “They are furious because he valued our way of life far more than Celebrity Center sex trash”. As more rejections came, this talented pair who “supported one another totally” became more and more irrational and in July 2007, a week apart, both committed suicide.
Two stories to keep beside you

Bonnie Lee Bakley (1956 – 2001)
Ten times married (officially) and a mother of four, New Jersey born Bonnie Lee Bakley wanted to be famous but instead ended up being shot dead in the car of the In Cold Blood star Robert Blake outside a Studio City restaurant in 2001.

Lee Miller (Lady Penrose, born Elizabeth Miller, 1907 – 1977)
One of the only female professional photographers accredited as an official US war correspondent during World War II, Lee Miller was photographed sitting in Hitler’s very own bathtub in Munich on the day he committed suicide in Berlin. The Roll Call – WILDCARDS

Read the full Vanity Fair tribute to Jeremy Blake and Theresa Duncan, “The Golden Suicides”, by Nancy Jo Sales at: http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/features/2008/01/suicides200801
vanity fair article is not a tribute, tributes are presented by people who care about a person. I don’t know any of Theresa or Jeremy’s friends who would consider their suicides golden. Tho the title is near to a favorite double suicide fav of Theresa’s The Black Sun. Are you a writer? Pretty shitty one, a real stretch to reference Romeo & Juliet, are you prepping your resume to land a job as on air persona fuck face for 60 Minutes.
Theresa’s blog, games & film speak for themselves, they are her, cliche commentary, spare the world of this misdirection. Direct people to her work.
