This Parisian actress and singer married the crooner Andy Williams when he was 33 and she was 19. They had three children but after the couple divorced in 1975, she took up with an Olympic skier named Vladimir “Spider” Sabich, Jr. Claudine Longet’s relationship with Sabich ended on 21st March 1976 when she shot and killed him in the bathroom of his Starwood, Aspen home. She was eventually convicted on a minor charge of misdemeanour criminal negligence and ordered to pay a small fine. Claudine Longet spent just 30 days in jail and was even allowed to paint her cell pink. She married her defence attorney, Ron Austin, in 1985 and though an out of court legal settlement with the Sabich family prevents her from discussing or writing about the case, still today, this femme fatale’s music allegedly sells like hotcakes.
