Picture of the Week – A Bitter Future

Theresa May rewrites her party’s guiding slogan At the end of her speech to the Conservative Party conference, Theresa May held up her hand to issue a cheery wave. A Bitter Future

Home Secretary Theresa May creates A Bitter Future The image we shared of the Flying Scotsman train with an unfortunately captioned poster of Alex Salmond was very popular. Now, this year’s Conservative Party conference has produced one that is nearly as good.

“The sovereign’s constitutional impartiality is an established principle of our democracy and one which the Queen has demonstrated throughout her reign”.

“As such the monarch is above politics and those in political office have a duty to ensure that this remains the case”.

“Any suggestion that the Queen would wish to influence the outcome of the current referendum campaign is categorically wrong”.

“Her Majesty is firmly of the view that this is a matter for the people of Scotland”.

David Cameron should now follow the Queen’s lead; it is time he drove home the case to save the Union.
