’Enry’s Ferrari

Ferrari once owned by boxing legend Sir Henry Cooper to be auctioned at the NEC Classic Motor Show sale

The late Sir Henry Cooper OBE, KSG (1934 – 2011) was a boxing legend and reflecting his status, amongst the stable of cars he variously owned and drove was a Ferrari. That vehicle, a 1973 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 is to be auctioned in November with no reserve and a guide of £40,000 to £45,000.

Lovingly nicknamed ’Enry’s Ferrari and described as “presenting beautifully”, the car is finished in Rosso red and complementing tan hide, has covered 60,000 miles and is one of just 55 right-hand drive examples produced. Silverstone  Auctions, who will sell the car at their 14th to 15th November sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham note: “This elegant bruiser is boxing clever… It should be noted that this car has the pedigree of the prancing horse, the presence of a heavyweight and the provenance to ensure it is a sound investment as well as a driver’s car”.

    1. A farmer friend of mine used to drive one because he liked to wear a trilby when driving and he pointed out that it was the only Ferrari one could drive in a hat. Not a beautiful car but a very accomplished and comfortable high speed 4 seater, well ahead of it’s time.
