Rowan Atkinson puts his Oxfordshire home on the market for £2.9 million after selling his McClaren F1 – bought for £540,000 in 1997 – for a staggering £8 million
Blackadder star Rowan Atkinson made a colossal profit when he sold his McLaren F1 – purchased for just £540,000 in 1997 – for £8 million in June and now he looks set to cash in again if he achieves the £2.9 million asking price he has set for his Oxfordshire home given he bought it for just £1 million in 2000.

Emptied of its contents following the end of his 24-year marriage, Atkinson has instructed Strutt & Parker to sell The Old Rectory at Waterperry after buying a £4.65 million house in North London. The Grade II listed property dates to 1777 but the majority of the accommodation is to be found in extensions built in the 2000s.
