Marina Oswald Porter (born Marina Nikolayevna Prusakova, Russian: Марина Николаевна Прусакова)
Russian born and the wife of John F. Kennedy’s killer, Oswald Porter met Lee Harvey Oswald when he defected to the Soviet Union in 1961. The couple settled in Dallas, Texas in 1962 and after the murder, she married her neighbour Kenneth Porter in 1965. Helena Bomham Carter played her in the 1993 television film Fatal Deception: Mrs Lee Harvey Oswald and in 2013, on the fiftieth anniversary of the shooting, the understandably reclusive Oswald Porter sold her first husband’s wedding ring for £68,000 at auction. The lot was accompanied by a letter that stated: “This is the only item of Lee’s that has been returned to me, and it took almost 50 years… I’m remarried for many years now, raised my children and have been blessed with grandchildren… At this time of my life I don’t wish to have Lee’s ring in my possession because symbolically, I want to let go of my past that is connecting with Nov. 22, 1963”. -

The term “bonfire of the bankers” truly applies to the life of this divorced Frenchman who has variously been based in London and New York. Back in 2009, he told Bloomberg: “I haven’t cried yet” after being made redundant by Credit Suisse in 2009 and then in October 2013, party loving Assoun informed a London court: “I don’t have any money… Yes I own a $3.3 million New York apartment — it doesn’t mean I’m rich”. This managing partner of the MYD Markets trade execution firm is plainly a man in need of a better publicist. -

Kira Plastinina (Ки́ра Серге́евна Пласти́нина)
Born in 1992, this Russian youngster launched a fashion brand in 2008 and currently has around 300 stores in “a few countries”. Plastinina’s father, a dairy tycoon, once paid Paris Hilton $2 million to attend one of the “teen millionaire’s” launches but her PR strategy hasn’t been exactly great. Of her designs, the Los Angeles Times had a one word description: “Ugly” and as a result the brand filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in 2009. She relaunched in 2013 with another brand named Lublu – Russian for “I love you” – in Dallas and claims that this time she’s got “more insight and [will] be more strategic and focused”. Perhaps a few more hours in the classroom are required yet.
