Matthew Steeples slates obnoxious opportunist Owen Jones for his latest ridiculous rant on ‘Good Morning Britain’
Owen Jones just loves the sound of his squeaky voice and this morning after yet another outburst of Good Morning Britain, this obnoxious opportunist was sadly once again trending on Twitter.
Renowned for childishly blocking anyone who dares disagree with his warped windbaggery on that medium, self-declared feminist Jones – whose tediously titled (not so) “notable works” according to Wikipedia number Chavs and The Establishment: And How They Get Away with it – this time tried to take revenge on Piers Morgan, who’d previously slapped the “utter arse” down in July 2020.
After sharing his vexatious views on what he considered “offensive,” Jones told hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard that “[Winston Churchill] oversaw the deaths of three million people” and added: “That’s still a fact.”
In reply, one Twitter user remarked: “We need freedom of speech in a democracy. Thanks to Churchill, Owen Jones has the right to express his derogatory views,” whilst another correctly concluded: “Can it get any worse? Got that toerag Owen Jones on, spouting rubbish again. #GMB”

Moron of the Moment 2021 – On Wednesday, Owen Jones penned yet more drivel and claimed that Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had provided an “ink-blot test” of the differences between “younger and older Britons.” He concluded: “All of this represents a serious challenge for progressive politics. Older, white, affluent Britons are of course the most likely to vote, and the Conservatives are keen to rig the electoral system further in their favour. Can any Labour leader successfully peel off enough economically secure, socially conservative older voters without alienating their younger supporters in order to build an electoral coalition? That question remains unanswered. But as the response to Meghan underlines, a seismic rift has opened up between the generations: it is only likely to widen further.”
Moron of the Moment 2021 – Owen Jones – Owen Jones spends copious amounts of time blocking anyone who dares disagree with him on Twitter. It’s a serious surprise he has a single follower left.
As our Change.org petition seeking to ban giraffe slayer Merelize van der Merwe tops 40,000 signatures, the psycho publicity addict shared a CBS documentary of another mental monster killing a giraffe
Elephant and giraffe murderer Merelize van der Merwe used to love the fact that 400 people she termed “snowflakes” signed a petition seeking to ban her from Facebook. Now, in less than a month, our new petition aiming to achieve the same has topped 40,000.
Now, aside from banning us from commenting on her Facebook “public figure” page, van der Merwe has attempted to justify her actions by sharing a video of another monster, an American named Tess Talley, bragging about killing a giraffe also.
In doing so, this deranged deviant has yet again proven she’s nothing but clinically insane and again today we urge those that haven’t already to help get our Change.org petition to ban her from the social media medium past 50,000 signatures. Please do so by clicking here.

Matthew Steeples calls on Sir Nick Clegg to listen to the 36,500 people who’ve signed our Change.org petition seeking giraffe slayer Merelize van der Merwe being banned from Facebook
Once considered a “great communicator” but a bit of a poodle to his coalition government partner, David Cameron, Clegg was meant to turnaround Facebook’s reputation in the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, but instead last week was branded: “Clegg, the pampered prince of PR” by The Times and “the Prince Harry of politics” by the Daily Mail.
Now, today, I have an idea for Sir Nick Clegg that could help reverse his bad fortune of late and that is to listen to the 36,500 people who’ve signed our Change.org petition seeking to ban Merelize van der Merwe, a wicked woman whose husband bought her the ‘opportunity’ to massacre a giraffe as a Valentine’s Day present, from posting her gruesome content on the pages of the social media organisation he works for.
That van der Merwe was even able to share graphic images and a video even of this ‘kill’ on Facebook is frankly outrageous and today I ask Sir Nick:
Is publishing barbaric actions of this nature something that you think is acceptable on a site used by millions across the globe?
Don’t you think it is time to ban this wicked wench and those like her from using Mark Zuckerberg’s medium for their personal pleasure and profit also?
Elsewhere on Change.org, 19,100 people have signed our petition seeking to ban the bear slaying barbarian Larysa Switlyk from Instagram, a company bought by Facebook in 2012 for £760 million ($1 billion). Perhaps Sir Nick, couldn’t you have a word there too?

A Call To Clegg – Sir Nick Clegg pictured with Facebook founder and Instagram owner Mark Zuckerberg.A Call To Clegg – Sir Nick Clegg once posed next to the logo of a charity called Millie’s Trust. It featured a giraffe and though he plainly wanted to show support for that, now he should show support for living giraffes and support the 36,500 people demanding giraffe slayer Merelize van der Merwe be banned from the pages of the social media company he is currently paid £2.7 million per year to work for.A Call To Clegg – Merelize van der Merwe has 99,000 followers on her “public figure” Facebook page. On it, she shares images of herself massacring amongst other animals elephants, hippos, lions and leopards. How is it acceptable that she is allowed to post such on a social media website, Sir Nick?A Call To Clegg – Larysa Switlyk has 99,000 followers on her Instagram page. On it, she shares imagery of herself massacring amongst other animals alligators, bears, goats, hippos and peacocks. She even once posed in a field in the UK with a blood covered sex toy and the body of a sheep she’d shot. How is it acceptable that she is allowed to post such on a social media website, Sir Nick?
A Call To Clegg – Viewer caution advised: Merelize van der Merwe posted this video of herself slaughtering a giraffe in Limpopo, South Africa on 24th February. It has been viewed by over 3,000 people and unsurprisingly resulted in international outrage. It is now time that Facebook put a stop to this deranged deviant profiting from her sickening activities and it would do the social media giant utterly no harm to send her to social media Siberia.
EXCLUSIVE – As his spin doctor “steps down,” Prince Andrew’s “buried” links to paedophiles other than Jeffrey Epstein is again highlighted
Late last week on Twitter, crusading author, sex abuse survivor and advocate Kirby Sommers reminded her 14,800 followers that Prince Andrews associations with padeophiles is nothing new.
Linking to a “long buried” 2017 article by Michael Friscolanti for Maclean’s, Sommers – whose shocking revelation about the name of the 9-year-old pictured on Jeffrey Epstein’s lap on his plane we recently featured also – remarked:
How many paedophile friends does Prince Andrew have to have before he addresses this issue?
Jimmy Savile
Jeffrey Epstein
Alleged child rapist Ghislaine Maxwell
Peter Nygard
And this long buried story about Andrew’s beloved teacher, the priest Keith Gleed?
The aforementioned article, which describes “how a royal gift exposed sexual abuse at an elite Canadian school,” references an institution attended by the Duke of York as a teenage exchange student for six months in 1977, Lakefield College School, just north of Peterborough, Ontario.
During the time the royal and later ‘bestie’ of Jeffrey Epstein spent there, ‘Randy Andy’ became close to the private school’s Anglican chaplain from 1974 to 1980, Father Keith Gleed. Of this, Friscolanti remarked:
“After meeting at Lakefield, Andrew and Gleed remained such good friends that the prince invited the reverend both to his 21st birthday party and to his wedding to Sarah Ferguson. Shortly before Gleed died of cancer in 2001, Andrew even travelled to his hospital bedside to say goodbye – ‘surely a testament of true friendship,’ according to Gleed’s obituary in the school newsletter.”
Later, in May 2008, the royal returned to the school to present a baptismal font hand-carved from stone from Balmoral in memory of Father Gleed. Afterwards in disgust, at least five former students were triggered to come forward “to report they were sexually abused by the one-time chaplain.”
Responding, Lakefield “removed from the property in 2014” the font whilst an independent investigation concluded in 2015 that the paedophile violated “the trust and authority” of his position and “afflicted harm on innocent students by engaging in sexual misconduct.”
Prince Andrew served as honorary chairman of the LCS Foundation until his “juggernaut crash” BBC interview in November 2019 brought his world crashing down. Keith Gleed’s victims, meanwhile, continue to seek justice and compensation.
Elsewhere last night, the Duke of York’s woes continued with the Mail on Sunday sharing news that “Prince Andrew’s spin doctor has stepped down after palace officials expressed their fury at a botched attempt to discredit the royal’s sex abuse accuser,” Virginia Giuffre.
Mark Gallagher, hired last year to “repair Prince Andrew’s reputation,” along with the Duchess of York’s personal assistant, Antonia Marshall, allegedly “approached” an online troll named Molly Skye Brown to seek to “prove a famous picture of the Prince with [Giuffre] was doctored.” In a “dramatic twist,” Skye Brown “reported their approach to the FBI.”

As our petition seeking Facebook banish Merelize van der Merwe tops 25,000 signatures in less than a week, this giraffe slaying monster sickly shares a video of her kill on YouTube
Today, in spite of the Mirror, Unilad and The Sun featuring our petition against the citrus farming freak, van der Merwe audaciously announced: “I created work for 11 people that day… And a lot of meat for the locals.”
Worse still, ignoring international outrage about what she so callously did, in a 1:34-minute video that YouTube has disgracefully allowed to remain live, van der Merwe has shared footage of herself killing the giraffe “on a private farm in Smartwater, Limpopo.” She accompanied it with a tune by Johnny Clegg titled Scatterlings of Africa and the following captions:
“Shot with a 30-06. Perfect frontal neck shot!”
“The second rifle was a .450 Rigby. Was awesome to do my coup de grace, even if it wasn’t necessary!”
“Thank you to my wonderful husband and my PH Chrisjan Bakker!”
Today, we urge all readers who haven’t signed already to join the 25,000 who’ve already signed our Change.org petition seeking to get Merelize van der Merwe banned from sharing imagery of her grossly offensive ‘activities’ on Facebook. Do so by clicking here and please also share widely. This monster must be stopped.
Pictured top: Bleached blonde bimbo Merelize van der Merwe in an image where she “showed-off” her tacky tattoo and also a video clip of herself taking a second shot at the innocent giraffe she massacred online also.
Merleize The Monster – The video of Merelize van der Merwe massacring a harmless giraffe is quite beyond sickening. We advise viewer caution.Merleize The Monster – Merelize van der Merwe reacted to our petition and articles about her by smugly posing with a can of ‘Lite’ beer. She arrogantly accompanied it with the caption: “While I make headlines across the globe, thought I’ll take a second to have a beer and enjoy our game farm. I hope that I can at least claim some profit from all the Kleenex used this week for all the emotionally unstable people out there.”Merleize The Monster – In another image posted on her Facebook page, this clinically crackers cretin shared an image of an elephant that had been shot with a dart. How can Facebook and their seven-figure salaried ex-leader of the Liberal Democrats vice president of global affairs Nick Clegg consider this acceptable?
“Britain’s most troublesome brolly” goes to auction on eBay after its wally owner nearly gets shot by armed police whilst carrying it
Whilst a chimney pot filled with a collection of umbrellas owned by the late Dowager Duchess of Devonshire we featured in February 2016 sold for the staggering sum of £4,375 at Sotheby’s due to its provenance, an Exeter man featured in DevonLive today is unsurprisingly not going to find his brolly selling for nearly as much after it nearly got him shot.
According to the paper’s plainly short of a real news story Chloe Parkman, “brolly wally” Mike Devlin was “swarmed by armed police five times while carrying his beloved novelty umbrella [with a samurai sword handle and a shoulder strap]” and now “has taken to eBay to get rid of it – on the orders of his other half.”
Speaking of the brolly, Devlin declared:
“You kind of get used to people pointing guns at you after a while. I lived in USA and have been to guns stores and in Germany where all cops have guns as well. But, in the UK, they seem obsessed by my umbrella.”
“I can vouch for it – it is a really strong umbrella and never breaks – but it is not a deadly weapon.” I just find the whole thing quite amusing. People accuse me of being an attention seeker, which is ridiculous. I have never called the police.”
“In all the years I was in Germany I never had a problem. The first issue I had was when I came to England and stepped off a plane and security pulled me over and wanted to know where I got it from.”
“I often get stopped by members of the public, and there have been five instances now where armed police have stopped me. On previous occasions when they discover it is just an umbrella they laugh it off. But it then culminated in them confiscating it.”
Referencing a recent incident when they pointed guns at Devlin, Devon and Cornwall Police remarked:
“We received a report of someone in possession of what looked like a samurai sword. It turns out it wasn’t a samurai sword, it was an umbrella made to look like a samurai sword. It looked realistic, to the armed officers as well.”
“I love this umbrella, had it for ages, but sadly I need to get rid of it. Why? Well, that’s an interesting one.”
“My other half doesn’t want me to get shot by the police. Y’see, couple of weeks ago, I had 4 assault rifles pointed at me, and surrounded by 8 police officers as I made my way home. This was the 5th time I have ran into armed officers (or should I say they have come running to me, including back-up units, and sending helicopters out), and whilst I have always found it highly amusing, she is, however, not overly enthused by it. I know, right! But what can I do?”
“So, here I am offering this immaculate umbrella that undoubtedly has caused more trouble in the UK than any other umbrella in British history. The winner will (reluctantly)receive the umbrella, and the police return sheet – they took it off me the last time, only for an armed officer to return it to me a few days ago.”
“The media is watching this listing (that image is from ‘The Times’), so you may even be contacted by a reporter should you win.”
“What will I spend the money on? Dunno, really – maybe a couple of drinks to drown my sorrows. Ugh, I need a drink now…”
A Brolly Wally – The very same umbrella that Mike Devlin has cleverly PR’d in ‘Devon Live’ and ‘The Times’ supposedly even can be had brand-new for just £24.99 (if you desire to walk around risking a police incident).A Brolly Wally – On the Facebook group ‘Angry People in Local Newspapers’ there was much discussion of the saga. One member, Steven Phillips, suggested: “He needs to get a less ambiguous brolly” and included a picture of an umbrella disguised as a gun.
Change.org petition started by ‘The Steeple Times’ seeking to ban giraffe slaying monster Merelize van der Merwe from Facebook goes viral with over 4,000 signatures in less than 24 hours
After we picked up on the story of a monster named Merelize van der Merwe massacring a giraffe and then posing with its heart, it went viral. In the last 24 hours, this heartless horror has appeared in The Sun, the Daily Mail and the Independent and seizing upon this The Steeple Times started a petition to seek to persuade Facebook to ban her.
Posted on Change.org, our petition reads:
Merelize van der Merwe (@Merelizevdm) has 80,600 likes and 97,700 followers on Facebook.
On her “public figure” page, this monster shares images of the endangered species she massacres. Amongst them are giraffes, elephants and leopards.
She also shares imagery and videos of herself covered in blood, of dead children and her and her fellow barbarians chopping up their victims.
Why does Facebook, a supposed site with family values, allow this? Instead, they should do the decent thing: Ban her.
Today, we ask that our readers come together to sign this to help put a stop to this vile woman’s celebration of slaying and slaughter. A previous petition started 4 years ago gained just 457 supporters and was closed; ours, started less than 24 hours ago, already has over 4,000 and has gone viral.

Ban Merelize van der Merwe from Facebook in 2021 – Merelize van der Merwe reacted to our petition by sharing it on Facebook and arrogantly declared: “Thought I’ll help their small-minded cause a bit.” 4,000 people reacted by signing in less than 24 hours, so plainly this deranged deviant has not got as many supporters as she imagined.Ban Merelize van der Merwe from Facebook in 2021 – Whilst this wicked wastrel thinks it acceptable to share imagery of the heart of a giraffe she slayed on Facebook, one has to ask: “Why have they not removed it?” Ban Merelize van der Merwe from Facebook in 2021 – In a post on 6th June 2020, this plainly clinically insane nutcase posed with the blood of something she’d killed all over her face. One has to ask: “Is this something that Facebook should be encouraging?”Ban Merelize van der Merwe from Facebook in 2021 – Merelize van der Merwe is a prolific sharer of offensive content on Facebook. Aside from her gruesome celebration of animal slaying, she shared graphic pictures of a dead child that she “claimed” was killed by a lion in May 2020 as part of her attempt to justify her massacring such creatures. How is it right that such is allowed on a site such as Facebook? It is time for them to ban her.Ban Merelize van der Merwe from Facebook in 2021 – To justify her sick self, van der Merwe included another photo of the supposed victim and claimed the lion to be responsible for the “brutal” attack. One of her equally vile fans, Jim Martin, tartly responded: “Sorry about the youngster.”
Enterprising Islington cabbie Josh Kelly turns to delivering pie and mash to replace fare absence during coronavirus lockdowns
Brought to our attention by reader June Clarke, Josh Kelly is someone just like book exchange heroine Olivia Clements who has done something positive for those in his neighbourhood during the coronavirus lockdowns.
Taxi driver Mr Kelly, after seeing his income from driving his black cab predictably plummet due to people staying at home, created Popham Pies to deliver minced beef pies with mash from M. Manze in Bermondsey throughout Islington.
“[Delivering pie and mash is] pretty much my main job now because there’s just no work in the taxi at the moment – obviously with the lockdown no-one’s going anywhere.”
“It’s gone from [being able to work 24/7] to you might work 10 hours and end up with £20… When lockdowns come to an end there is some work, but very little, still quite bad. So, this was just something to sort of guarantee me a bit more money per week.”
“I don’t even go out in the taxi any more, to be honest, because it’s just not worth it. Last time I went out I did four hours and I got one job which was £16 and that covered the diesel. Once the pandemic is over there probably will be a lot less cab drivers out there.”
“It is tough when you go from working six, seven days a week to doing nothing. So, I really had to come up with something myself.”
“It’s traditional London and pie and mash in a traditional taxi, so I just thought it would catch people’s attention.”
“It’s a very traditional London thing, just like the black taxi is, so that’s why I tied the two together.”
A single pie and mash is charged at £5, a double at £9 and a triple at £13.50. All come with liquor.
Islington based readers can order from Popham Pies via Instagram or WhatsApp on +447388781736. Those elsewhere can arrange to collect from Josh Kelly by appointment in chilled (ready to cook) or cooked (to heat in a microwave) form.
Popham Pies has over 600 followers on Instagram and over 1,000 on Facebook.Enterprising taxi driver Josh Kelly set up Popham Pies during the coronavirus lockdown to keep himself busy. He “hopes to be able to continue the pie and mash delivery service, possibly recruiting other cab drivers to expand into other areas of London.”
Shockingly shared elsewhere on Facebook by the perpetrator heself, 32-year-old Merelize van der Merwe’s “wonderful husband paid £1,500 to make her five-year dream come true at a game park last Sunday,” the paper’s Sean Rayment reported.
Going further, the Mirror revealed: “She plans to use her 17-year-old victim’s skin as a rug – and posted her pic with the comment: ‘Ever wondered how big a giraffe’s heart is? I’m over the moon with my Valentines present!’”
In response to this shocking news, Elisa Allen of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals quite rightly concluded:
“One day, trophy hunting will be listed as a sign of a psychiatric disorder, as it should be today. It is grandiosity, serial killing, and bloodlust paired with a burning desire to show off.”
A Change.org petition seeking to ban self-proclaimed “public figure” van der Merwe from Facebook was started 4 years ago, but unlike The Steeple Times’ one seeking to achieve the same for fellow Donald Trump obsessive Larysa Switlyk on Instagram, attracted just 457 supporters and was closed.
Join the 17,100 people who’ve already signed a Change.org petition seeking to get ‘blue ticked’ bear slaying barbarian Larysa Switlyk banned from Instagram by clicking here. One seeking to achieve the same for Merelize van der Merwe on Facebook deserves to achieve a similar level of success.

Now still, it seems, the ‘BinGate’ saga – widely referenced online as equivalent to “Henley’s 9/11” – isn’t over and this week the local rag, the Henley Herald, returned to report on another council meeting about this trashy topic. They even featured a link to its live stream on YouTube, but only described Eggleton’s previous temper tantrum as having occurred because “his fellow party councillors were not listening to him.”
“I don’t believe in waste” curiously announced self-declared “expert about waste” Eggleton during the Zoom conference on 16th February. He then added: “On the solar bins… The have chips in them that tell you when they are full, but unfortunately [the bin collectors] haven’t got the software… It doesn’t make any sense… I would say this needs relooking at and shouldn’t go ahead… I won’t be voting for agreeing with these to go ahead.”

In March 2019, the ‘Henley Standard’ reported on David Eggleton being nominated for “the local hero award” by his mum and winning. At the time, he cryptically revealed “he was organising new projects, but would not reveal any details.”David Eggleton does have interests in matters other than muck. In 2018, he took part in training in the use of speed cameras with fellow councillor Lorraine Hillier whilst dressed in some especially dirty clothing. Ms Hillier donned a condom-esque coat for the occasion.
