She whips those who write to her into submissiveness and believes that whilst Essex girls are “like mopeds: you may not like to be seen with them but they are much more fun to ride” Chelsea girls are “like cream: thick, rich and taken by themselves bland and sickening”. Kelly Hoppen MBE
This red-headed South Africa born design dragon is most famous for her use of taupe. Hoppen views white to be an “essential neutral” and loved visiting show flats as a child. She’s dated footballer Sol Campbell and hairdresser Nicky Clarke and claims Victoria Beckham as her “BFF”. She is “proud of being British today” and once attempted to text her fellow Dragons’ Den dragon Duncan Bannatyne and “got him confused with Duncan from Blue”. -
