Texan estate for sale for sum 43% less than in 2011; it comes with the “finest private bowling alley in America” and a car museum

In March 2015, The Steeple Times featured a Texan mansion described by some as “more iconic than Southfork.” Back then this “replica of George Washington’s Virginia estate” had been for sale for four years already and now, in March 2020, it’s still on the market.

Offered at prices as high as £26.1 million and as low as £12 million, Mount Vernon overlooks White Rock Lake in Dallas and was built between 1928 and 1930. It was sold in 1938 to one of the world’s largest oil baron’s, H. L. Hunt (1889 – 1974) – a man “reputed to have the highest net worth of any individual in the world” at the time of his death.

Passing on to a commercial real estate tycoon and fellow supporter of the Bush political dynasty named John Amend in 1999, the 10,511 square foot house was subsequently renovated and aside from creating spaces including a prayer room, a 10,000 bottle wine cellar, a 1950s style diner and a car museum, what is considered to be the finest private bowling centre in America was added. It comes complete with a digital jukebox that has over 500,000 songs on its concert hall quality sound system

Whilst Mr Amend and his wife Teresa hosted guests including Glenn Close and President George W. Bush at Mount Vernon, in 2011 they decided to “simplify their lives” and placed it for sale. In the time since, its yoyo-ed on and off the market but speaking about the property to the Dallas News in February this year, realtor Allie Beth Allman claimed the Amends have now “made it a goal to sell the property this year.” She went further and stated:

“Many interested buyers have made offers, but the family has been reluctant to sell… The kids are just now at the age that they really enjoy it, and they spend a lot of time over there. It’s hard to give that up when your grandkids are saying, ‘Oh, don’t sell.’”

Hero of the Hour – Anonymous Fish & Chip Donor

Good Samaritan paying for villagers of Denchworth, Oxfordshire to have fish and chips once per week during the coronavirus lockdown deserves to be saluted

For the next three months every Friday, the 171 residents of Denchworth, Oxfordshire will get £5 per head fish and chips from their local pub, The Fox, free of charge.

Paid for by an individual whom wishes to remain anonymous, the meals will be cooked by the pub’s landlord, Stephen Davidson, at the behest of the “very wealthy in-betweener” – a man “who splits his time between London and Denchworth,” according to the Mail Online.

Of the “lovely gesture,” Mr Davidson commented:

“He is really concerned about people in the village, so he wants to help in any way he can. It is the local boozer for this man… It will be a good thing for the locals, especially for the elderly who are stuck indoors… He promised a hot plate of fish and chips for everybody.”

Whilst one very negative Mail Online reader inappropriately commented: “The class system appears to be live and well in your country still,” most quite rightly reacted positively. We join those saluting this act of generosity and look forward to hearing of other similar examples across the globe as this crisis sadly deepens.

Moron of the Moment – James Abbott-Thompson

Diane Abbott’s policeman biting son is proof of her own inadequacies as a parent; this loopy Labour MP should get her own house in order before lecturing others

Diane Abbott is known for many things and sadly most of them aren’t endearing. She’s had sex with Jeremy Corbyn, she stupidly apologised after doing something amusing in drinking a canned mojito on a tube train and most recently, she went out with two left shoes on.

Now, with news that this dimwit and hypocrite’s privately educated son (and godson of the former MP turned vicar Jonathan Aitken), James Abbott-Thompson, has admitted “spitting at a police officer and biting his colleague” via video link to Westminster Magistrates’ Court after being refused entry to the Foreign Office, we can now observe a pattern emerging and that is: “Like mother, like son.”

Whilst wayward Abbott-Thompson – who also appeared in court in January in regard to another eleven alleged offences (including one of most inappropriately exposing himself on a hospital ward) – plainly has anger management and most likely mental health issues, his loopy mother must now realise enough is enough: Diane Abbott must get her own house in order before she hectors a single other.

Calling Out A Creep

Cousin of Prince Andrew speaks with the FBI about alleged madam Ghislaine Maxwell’s involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein case

The Duke of York’s very own cousin has called the FBI about what she knows about the Epstein case according to Sebastian Shakespeare in the Daily Mail this morning.

Speaking to the columnist, Christina Oxenberg, the daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, remarked:

“Anything I can do, I want to do because I’m so disgusted by what has happened.”

“Nothing will heal the trauma. These women are affected for their whole lives, but at the very least they should have money.”

“[Ghislaine Maxwell] definitely has millions… She wanted to marry [Jeffrey Epstein]. She didn’t, but she got a lot of money. Cash and assets. All blood money.”

Of Maxwell herself, Oxenberg spoke of a conversation between them in 1997. She stated:

“Never forget it. We were alone. She said many things. All creepy. Unorthodox. Strange. I could not believe whatever she was saying was real. Stuff like: ‘Jeffrey and I have everyone on videotape!’”

Detectives supposedly want to do a follow-up and thus plainly now, Prince Andrew most likely won’t be calling Oxenberg anytime soon.

Sir Philip Green’s downfall is now all but complete; strip him of his knighthood says Matthew Steeples

He used to be known as ‘Sir Shifty’ but now that’s become a title too far. With revelations that ‘Phily G’ has been caught – and there’s the most tawdry video footage of it even – “pawing” an overweight wench, it truly is time that those with the power to strip someone of their honour acted.

Having seen his PR advisors quit and the ‘Hot Felon’ appearing to have ditched his “pig-like” daughter, Chloe, in favour of a life on the razzle-dazzle in LA, the ‘Modern Day Robert Maxwell’ seems to be finally reaching his nemesis. Aside from having been branded a “cross between Al Capone and Shylock” in this very publication by Steven Berkoff, Sir Philip must come to accept his final role: All that’s left for this grubby groper and wrecker of pensioners’ lives is a position as the pantomime villain.

Rolf’s Rotters

Loopy Lizzie Cornish and pop paedophile Jonathan King leap to the defence of child abuser and playground pest Rolf Harris

Disgraced music mogul Jonathan King is someone who bizarrely believes that the serial killer Dr Harold Shipman – a man who possibly murdered 250 of his patients – may have been a victim of the media. Yesterday, this odd looking singer-songwriter stooped to a new low by defending a fellow nonce, Rolf Harris, in the wake of news that the latter had turned up in a primary school playground.

In a comment on Twitter, King pompously announced:

#RolfHarris – I think the media should be prosecuted for hate crimes. A disgraceful and stupid story deliberately designed to provoke hatred and violence. Bastards.

Responding, all-round nuisance and Rolf Harris obsessive Lizzie Cornish joined in and aside from sharing her views with the Mail Online, issued a more detailed supporting rant on Facebook. In it, this nutty, self-professed “woman pissed off by lying women” droned on about “despair” and commented:

Gawd, I DESPAIR of thick journalists who know NOTHING of the subject of their stories. Just off the phone to the Mail Online about their recent ‘Rolf Story’, dressed up to be all that it was NOT. The CONSTANT PERSECUTION of Rolf is beyond shocking, but the STUPIDITY and IGNORANCE of these people DARING to call themselves JOURNALISTS shocks me even more. Today’s one didn’t even KNOW Rolf has already had one case overturned by The Court of Appeal, arrogantly telling me “HE ABUSED AN 8 YEAR OLD, YOU KNOW!”. There was, the usual, stunned silence when I informed him that case was overturned in November 2017…..

I’m not Jewish, but….OY VEY!

Story? Rolf, one of the most creative, friendly humans on the planet, who’s worked with children (and adults) for 60 years, spots a sculptor using wood for his sculpture, in a school playing field, excitedly dashes over to talk to him, probably to give him lots of encouragement, as that’s Rolf All Over, as well as discussing the finer points of sculpting….Then, Rolf merely waves to children INSIDE the school, without thinking, as after 60 YEARS of a totally UNBLEMISHED CAREER working WITH children, it’s an AUTOMATIC reaction, even after all he’s been put through, as the children were watching both men….Headmaster goes out, shakes Rolf’s hand, explains he can’t be on school grounds, Rolf realizes his mistake immediately, leaves straight away….Head feels he has to inform police, I’d imagine in case any child told their parents, thus putting him in awkward situation…Press get hold of it, turn it into a Paedo Lurking In The Bushes kind of story to grab the headlines yet again using Rolf’s name, and thus, get as much money from their advertizerment backers as possible.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT!

With Harris having been out for another wander in public again yesterday as well, shame once again on him but shame also on these two oddballs.

Manic Meghan

The ‘modern day Mrs Simpson,’ the manic Duchess of Sussex’s, behaviour is becoming increasingly erratic; she needs to learn to control herself or she will indeed become a true laughing stock

As plain old Meghan Markle, she was known for “carefully planning” publicity stunts on Instagram and elsewhere. ‘Murky Mucky’ likes being in charge but in her latest activities, she’s just shown herself to be erratic and ridiculous.

Headlines about the Duchess of Sussex covering her face in porridge as part of her beauty regime – courtesy no doubt planted by her plainly equally bonkers PR advisors – show her not to be a woman of the people, but instead a bit of a fruit loop.

Elsewhere, that this wannabe Mother Teresa – a woman whose husband once remarked: “What Meghan wants, MEGHAN GETS!” – wrote patronising messages on bananas that were to be given to prostitutes illustrate new-found levels of arrogance on her part. She may call such actions “empowering” but even the previously toady to this former actress Piers Morgan has finally now called her out.

In summing up this tiresome woman’s activities with bananas as “meaningless, scorn-inducing guff,” Morgan is entirely right. This American transplant needs to learn to control herself and she needs to develop some dignity.

Fishwife Ferne

Reality television ‘star’ and ex-girlfriend of acid thrower Ferne McCann caught hurling drinks at National Television Awards

Ferne McCann and chucking things seem to go together. First, the father of her child was deservedly jailed after attacking 22 innocent people with acid and now it has been revealed that this Brentwood born broad chucked wine at a fellow guest at the National Television Awards at the O2 Arena on the 22^nd January.

During the attack, Ms McCann – a tawdry fishwife-like woman whose ‘fame’ stems from stints on such drivel as TOWIE, Loose Women and This Morning – also supposedly shoved a plastic cup containing the liquid in the face of her victim, Love Island participant Adam Collard.

Here is a woman who also tastelessly promoted lip plumping primer on the day her evil ex, “despicable liar” Arthur Collins, was sent down and here also is someone happy to pose with the creepy Christian crooner Cliff Richard. Ferne McCann – who was questioned by police over the drink throwing incident – is as common as muck and plainly also deserves to be sent to anger management classes.

A Moral Vacuum

Billionaire Brexiteer James Dyson (yet again) shows himself as nothing but a self-serving prick in relocating his HQ to Singapore

Yesterday, in the wake of the crappy hoover manufacturer Sir James Dyson announcing he’d be relocating his headquarters to Singapore, the journalist Tim Walker tweeted: “Need a moral vacuum? Get a Dyson” and followed up with: “People are becoming legitimately angry about the sheer hypocrisy of the Brexiteers. We see them for what they are.”

This morning, in a similar vein, a spoof news site named Evening Harold ran a story titled ‘Dyson launch moral vacuum’ in which they declared the billionaire’s products to have: “100% less integrity than rival products and comes in cordless, bagless, spineless and gutless models.”

They are right: This tax avoider – whom also recently spent £57 million ($74 million) on a Manhattan penthouse – and his dreary overpriced rugmaker wife Deirdre are the finest examples of hypocrites on the planet; they pompously tell the populous what to do and do exactly the opposite. It’s time this “it’s one rule for us and another for everyone else” duo just bogged off to whatever tax haven they feel most comfortable in.

Wally of the Week – Max Hammet-Millay

Russian born Max Hammet-Millay has benefitted from all the privileges of being welcomed to Britain; he now wants to pull up the drawbridge and joined the attack on Anna Soubry MP on Monday

In 2000, an infant named Max was plucked from an orphanage in Ulyanovsk in Russia by two gay men from Islington, London. They had already taken another boy, Renat, from the same place two years earlier.

Glenn Hammett and Keith Millay adopted ‘Max Hammett-Millay’ – as he became – and gave him a £23,000 per year education at the DLD College in Westminster. The boy subsequently studied biology at the University of Portsmouth and reportedly now lives in Camden Town, but sadly it seems Hammett and Millay came to regret their decision to bring him to Britain.

In 2017, in an interview for the Daily Mail about his experiences with his two sons, Hammett announced: “There are moments I wish I hadn’t [adopted Max].” He detailed the behavioural problems of both of their sons and yesterday the very same paper revealed: “One of the yobs who called Anna Soubry a ‘Nazi’ and a ‘traitor’ is a private-school educated former Jeremy Corbyn supporter.”

Hammett-Millay, pictures confirm, was indeed amongst the “mob” who surrounded the Conservative MP and Remain supporter on Monday outside the Houses of Parliament and show him wearing a ‘Trump 2020’ baseball cap. He later took to Facebook to share an image of Soubry complete with a drawn-on Hitler moustache but bizarrely, in spite of attending an anti-austerity rally carrying a ‘Jeremy Corbyn for PM’ placard in 2016, has described the Labour leader as a “moron” also.

Plainly Max Hammett-Millay is nothing but a confused, spoilt brat and a wannabe Katie Hopkins. He should calm himself and learn to behave with a little more civility.
