Runners & Riders – Welsh Grand National 2021

Christmas betting tips – ‘The Steeple Times’ offers selections for today’s Welsh Grand National 2021 at Chepstow and options in three other races

Whilst we missed out in the extraordinary spectacle of Tornado Flyer winning by nine lengths at 28/1 – the most astonishing result ever in in the 84-year history of the King George VI Chase and a spectacular success for jockey Danny Mullins – yesterday, today we’re joining those looking at the somewhat crowded 20 runner, 5 place Welsh Grand National at Chepstow at 2.50pm.

We did, however, manage some successes elsewhere on Boxing Day and achieved a reasonable return with a 1st for Sidi Ismael at 9/2 and a 3rd for Brother Pat at 18/1 in the 2.15pm at Market Rasen and a 2nd for Mister Coffey in the 1.20pm at Kempton Park and now today, we are looking at EACH WAY BETS on:

Tornado Flyer King George VI 2021 Kempton Park
Tornado Flyer was an extraordinary 28/1 winner in the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day.
    Stan Sheppard Iwilldoit
Stan Sheppard is hoping to do it on Iwilldoit today at Chepstow.

2.50pm Chepstow – Coral Welsh Grand National (20 runners, 5 places with Ladbrokes ’The Grid’)

Stan Sheppard – Stan Thomas combo Iwilldoit at 8/1 from 9/1 earlier (The Sun ‘Longshot’, Daily Telegraph, Mirror)

The Sun states: “He couldn’t have been more impressive when winning the trial for this race. The big one is a lot tougher but he has solid place prospects.”

Racing Post adds: “Unexposed as a chaser and is an interesting staying prospect after winning the Trial here.”

Also in the same race, Harry Cobden – Paul Nicholls combo Highland Hunter at 11/1 (The Sun NAP, At The Races ‘Watch Out For’)

The Sun enthuses: “Will relish this stamina test and ground will be fine.”

At The Races adds: “Highland Hunter appears to be the chief threat after his win at Sandown in the London National, but he has to carry a 4lb penalty for that success here.”

Racing Post remarks: “Five-race chase career, on the up; pipped Deise Aba at Sandown (3m5f) and has 4lb penalty.”

Also in the same race, Tom Scudamore – David Pipe combo Ramses De Teillee at 25/1 (Sporting Life, Daily Mail ‘Gimcrack’)

Racing Post comments: “2nd in this three years ago; not disgraced on three of last four starts; first cheekpieces.”

Also in the same race, Gavin Sheehan – Jessica Harrington combo Discordantly at 20/1 from 18/1 earlier (Sporting Life)

Matt Brocklebank for Sporting Life enthuses: Last year’s winner Secret Reprieve – not sighted since and 6lb higher in the ratings – is there to be shot at as 9/2 clear favourite and the value now lies with another Irish challenger DISCORDANTLY who fell when still in touch with the leaders five-out before The Big Dog went on to beat subsequent Midlands National fourth Screaming Colours in the Punchestown Grand National Trial back in February.”

“It’s fair to suggest Discordantly has proved to be something of a ‘nearly horse’ in his chasing career to this point but he’s always struck me as a thorough stayer and I thought he ran a bit better than the end result when sixth in the Ultima at Cheltenham in March, a race dominated by those right on the sharp end from the off.”

“Jessica Harrington’s horse couldn’t quite get close enough to mount a serious challenge at the Festival but he has raced up with the pace in the past and I’d be amazed if the booking of Gavin Sheehan doesn’t prompt another relatively forward ride here after being held up behind horses again at Navan on his comeback.

“The Troytrown he contested there looked a really warm race of its type, quality novice Run Wild Fred (favourite for the NH Chase) impressively beating stablemate Farclas and subsequent Cheltenham second Mister Fogpatches. Discordantly ran with credit, ending up sixth again, and while he’s gone well fresh in the past it did look like a race that could bring him on a bit.”

“Soft ground has never been an issue either for the son of Salutino and he remains open to potential over marathon distances running off a 2lb lower mark than when quietly fancied (10/1) at Cheltenham in the spring. A BHA mark of 140 actually means he’s one of the last to sneak in here off his ‘correct’ mark and the fitting of a first-time tongue tie could also help spark a little bit of an upturn in performance. I like his claims around the 20/1 mark.”

Racing Post muses: “Failed to complete at 3m4f/3m5f; not disgraced on reappearance; tongue tied first time.”

    1.05pm Chepstow (10 runners, 3 places)

Ben Jones – Bernard Llewellyn combo Zambezi Fix at 13/2 from 15/2 earlier (The Sun ‘Each-Way Thief’)

The Sun shares: “He had a confidence-booster over hurdles at Sandown earlier this month and can get back on track returning to chasing here.”

Racing Post says: “Good second over hurdles last time; consistent over fences; more persuasive than many.”

Also in the same race, Kevin Brogan – Jonjo O’Neill combo When You’re Ready at 21/10 (Guardian, SPOTLIGHT, RP Ratings, POSTDATA, The Times, Daily Telegraph, Guardian, Daily Mail ‘Robin Goodfellow’, Mirror, The Sun, Daily Star, Daily Record, At The Races “Watch Out For’, Racing Post NAP)

The Sun offers: “Won over course and distance latest and will be right there.”

At The Races adds: “When You’re Ready won easily over C&D last time and an added 7lb from the handicapper may not stop another bold effort, while Zambezi Fix could place yet again after a decent second at Sandown.”

Greg Wood for Guardian observes: “When You’re Ready built on the promise of his chasing debut to win with something to spare over course and distance last time out and a 7lb rise in the weights is unlikely to stop his progress.”

Racing Post remarks: “Progressing well and open to further improvement, WHEN YOU’RE READY (nap) can follow up his recent C&D success off a 7lb higher mark… Personal best when scoring over C&D; open to further improvement and has a good chance.”

    1.55pm Kempton Park (7 runners, 3 places)

Sean Houlihan – Sue Gardner combo Empressive Lady at 14/5 from 3/1 earlier (Radio 4, Racing Post ‘Dark Horse’, Daily Star)

Simon Giles for Racing Post observes: “Shaped fairly well on ground quicker than ideal on her Ascot reappearance and this course-and-distance winner can strike off a mark a stone lower than when placed in this race last year.”

Racing Post less enthusiastic: “Runner-up off 1lb higher in this race 12 months ago; below par since.”

Also in the same race, Case double Coded Message at 18/5 from 7/2 earlier (Racing Post ‘Handicappers’ NAP, RP Ratings, TOPSPEED, POSTDATA, The Times, Guardian, Daily Mail ‘Robin Goodfellow’, The Sun, Daily Record’, At The Races ‘Watch Out For’)

Steve Mason for Racing Post shares: “Shaped fairly well on ground quicker than ideal on her Ascot reappearance and this course-and-distance winner can strike off a mark a stone lower than when placed in this race last year.”

Greg Wood for Guardian observes: “Coded Message has been dropped a couple of pounds since a close fourth at Ascot and could make the most of it in a competitive contest.”

The Sun shares: “Won this in 2019 and lower in the weights now.”

At The Races adds: “Coded Message wasn’t too far behind the selection in fourth that day and she is entitled to improve for that first outing since April.”

Racing Post offers: “Coded Message is feared most… Won this race (off 2lb higher) in 2019 and finished third last year; solid chance.”

    3.10pm Kempton Park (11 runners, 3 places)

William Kennedy – Christian Williams combo Kitty’s Light at 20/1 from 14/1 earlier (The Sun ‘Each-Way Thief’, GG.co.uk)

The Sun suggests: “He was pulled up in the Ladbrokes Trophy last time but went close in a Wetherby Grade 2 before that and can bounce back.”

At The Races adds: “Kitty’s Light arrives with something to prove having been pulled up in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury.”

Racing Post concludes: “Failed to show his form last time; normally consistent and looks likely to bounce back.”

Also in the same race, Bryony Frost – Paul Nicholls combo Real Steel at 7/1 from 13/2 earlier (Sporting Life, Daily Mail ‘Gimcrack’)

Racing Post finishes: “Unconvincing record for current yard but has become well treated on best Irish form.”

    EACH WAY DOUBLE

For those looking for an each way double, we are going with Zambezi Fix in the 1.05pm at Chepstow and Real Steel in the 3.10pm at Kempton Park at 59/1.

  • Maxwell Delayed

    Maxwell Delayed

Matthew Steeples suggests that Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial being delayed is not surprising given new charges against the mucky madam; it is now time Prince Andrew spoke to the FBI, he adds

After banging on about her ‘black eye’ and her lawyers having had shared an undated image of a woman who shouldn’t be posing for pictures given she’s incarcerated anyway, the disgraced socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has finally secured a ‘win’ after her trial was given “a short continuance until the fall of 2021 to allow the defence to prepare for the additional charges brought.”

The fact of the matter in this development, however, is that the new charges brought against Maxwell recently not only extend the timeframe in question from 1994 to 1997 to 1994 to 2004 – key to the period in which the mucky madam was especially involved with the likes of Prince Andrew – but also increased her number of “minor” accusers from 3 to 4 victims. Here, now, we have before us a wicked wastrel of a woman facing a likely far worse fate and, frankly, thus, a small extension to allow her to “prepare” can be considered reasonable.

In other legal correspondence yesterday, the Honorable Alison J. Nathan stated “the Court declines to take further action at this time” in response to Maxwell’s lawyers claiming that paperwork supposedly destined for their client had been interfered with by her jailors. Dismissing yet more distraction technique by the ‘Bouncing Czech’s’ deviant daughter, Nathan also added that the trial delay must be “no longer than necessary” and after ordering both sides to quickly work towards a new proposed trial date quite rightly added:

“No [further] additional delay is necessary or in the interests of justice… Importantly, any victims and the public more broadly have a strong interest in trial proceeding without undue delay.”

Pictured top: Ghislaine Maxwell looking smug. No doubt, today, she’s feeling such at having her trial delayed, but isn’t she just delaying the inevitable? Someone sane, would seek a plea deal, but this mendacious minx has the same attitude as her fraud father and will remain arrogant to the end.

Maxwell Delayed – On Friday, I appeared on Shaun Attwood’s YouTube channel to discuss Ghislaine Maxwell’s ‘black eye’ and other recent developments in the case. Also featured was author, sex abuse survivor and advocate Kirby Sommers and a gentleman named Charlie Robinson.

Maxwell Delayed – Now, after a period of mourning for his late father, it is jolly well time that ‘Randy Andy’ faced the music and went to answer the questions of the FBI about his involvement with his ‘bestie’ Ghislaine Maxwell and the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. On Saturday, the ‘Daily Star’ reported that the “Queen [is] ‘trapped in Catch 22’ with Prince Andrew ahead of Ghislaine Maxwell trial” and reported royal commentator Daniela Elser claimed: “Her Majesty is in ‘dangerous territory’ regarding how [she] manages the fallout of the Duke of York’s ties to the disgraced late financier and his alleged accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.” Elser added: “The public wants to see Andrew disciplined and forced to pay more of a price for his abysmal choices however having lost his royal job, patronages and reputation what else is there to take away? Short of Her Majesty forcing him to mow the acres and acres (literally) of palace lawn every week or pushing him out of a speeding Range Rover in front of the US Embassy and leaving him to the FBI, royal hands are tied.”

Maxwell Delayed – Ghislaine Maxwell used to pose naked at Jeffrey Epstein’s mucky mansion in Palm Beach; now after supposedly faking photos at burger joints, the alleged vegan is posing with black eyes. How times change for this daughter of the pension plunderer Robert Maxwell.

Maxwell Delayed – Last week, this not-seen-before image of Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein with Bill Clinton emerged. Given the multiple interactions between the former POTUS and the deviant duo, Clinton must, like Prince Andrew, be squeamish about what will be said about his ‘involvement’ at any forthcoming trial.

Maxwell Delayed – Referencing another element to the case, Sommers linked to a ‘Maza Inside’ article about a former friend of Maxwell who’ll be giving evidence against the alleged mucky madam. She quoted that ex-friend as saying: “[Maxwell] told me she could get into anybody’s pants and that girls are like candy.” Going further the unnamed “wealthy Californian woman” added: “This woman was worse than Jeffrey Epstein. She has no conscience. I wondered about a lot of things with her, sometimes.”

I wonder what attracted Peter Mandelson to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein?” In May 2020, ‘The Steeple Times’ reported on the late Paul Daniels’ wife Ms McGee “boasting about her connections to ‘Randy Andy’” and in June that year we also explored the somewhat curious relationship between ‘Prince of Perv’ Epstein, ‘Prince of Darkness’ Mandelson and ‘Princess of Pugnacious’ Maxwell.
  • Bombastic Basham Bashes Back

    Bombastic Basham Bashes Back

Brian Basham, PR peddler for mucky madam Ghislaine Maxwell, suggests ‘Hunting Ghislaine’ podcast host John Sweeney is a drunk and someone he “despises”

In spite of “socialist and vocal republican” public relations peddler Brian Basham’s most determined efforts on behalf of one-time ‘Friend of Geordie’ (Greig) Ghislaine Maxwell, the unsealed reasoning as to why the mucky madam deservedly didn’t get bail showed his client to be nothing other than a liar and a deviant.

Now, in the wake of US District Judge Alison Nathan referencing Miss Maxwell as having shown a “pattern of providing incomplete or erroneous information to the court or to pretrial services,” bombastic Basham, himself, has plainly had a meltdown.

Yesterday, on Twitter, the “unceremoniously dumped by British Airways” Basham turned on the journalist and host of the widely acclaimed podcast Hunting Ghislaine, John Sweeney. In a tweet, the “longtime family friend” of the Maxwells remarked:

“It’s a very sad thing John. You’ve done good work in the past. Has drink got to you at last? If it has, do try AA. They’ve worked wonders for friend [sic] of mine. This work was terrific and I’m sorry to see you in the gutter.”

Going further of Sweeney referencing him on a “current list of people who don’t like me” that also included the Kremlin, Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Evgeny Lebedev, Peter Mandelson, the Barclay twins, Richard Desmond, the Church of Scientology, the BBC’s management under Tony Hall and Tommy Robinson, Basham angrily added:

“Wrong word John. It’s ‘despise’ in my case. I despise you for coating your investigation [of Ghislaine Maxwell’s alleged crimes against child trafficked victims] with the slime of click bait untrue sensationalism.”

After John Sweeney shared a “current list of people who don’t like me,” Brian Basham attempted to belittle him by suggesting him to be an alcoholic before adding he “despised” rather than “disliked” him.

Sweeney responded and thanked the PR peddler for his “kind compliment.” He added: “I like a drink but much more important to me is telling stories power and money don’t want told. Such as #HuntingGhislaine, our podcast on Ghislaine Maxwell. In which @brianbasham features.

  • Grotesque Ghislaine Grubbily Groans

    Grotesque Ghislaine Grubbily Groans

As grotesque Ghislaine Maxwell is deservedly denied bail, PR peddler Brian Basham bizarrely drones on about China and “show trials” whilst author Don Winslow references the pressure now placed on Donald Trump

Unsurprisingly denied bail in spite of offering up £21.1 million ($28.5 million, €23.2 million or درهم104.7 million) due to prosecutors highlighting her deviousness over her is-it-still-on-is-it-off marriage to Scott Borgerson and definite flight risk status, Ghislaine Maxwell’s groaning about her “oppressive” jail conditions deservedly also fell on deaf ears.

Illustrating ‘Bouncing Bob’s’ deviant daughter was actually subject to “conditions [that] set her apart from general population inmates, not to mention other inmates in protective custody,” the New York Times reported that federal prosecutors “contended Ms. Maxwell didn’t have it so bad.”

Rather than being left to face rats, as the grotesque grubber has groaned, they added: “She is released from her cell for 13 hours a day. She has her own shower, her own phone and exclusive use of two computers – even her own TV.”

In response, as per usual, the somewhat sympathetic DailyMail.com – an operation controlled by one-time Maxwell associate Geordie Greig – gave the mucky madam’s PR peddler and coordinator of ‘Operation Get Ghislaine Out’ Brian Basham space to drone on about the “injustice” of the decision. Predictably, he went into a diatribe on her behalf and ranted:

“It’s grotesque and against the laws of natural justice. It’s just wrong to deny somebody the chance to properly prepare for their defense.”

“She’s going to be locked up in prison for months now. The judge has given in to the lynch mob, that’s what this is.”

“Ghislaine will be devastated. Her birthday was on Christmas Day and she was hoping to be out by then to be with her family.”

“This seems like a show trial, it’s ridiculous. I hesitate to draw comparisons with China but that’s how it feels.”

Elsewhere on Twitter last night, award-winning crime and mystery novelist Don Winslow told his 557,500 followers:

“A judge rejected Ghislaine Maxwell’s $28.5 million bail package today.”

“This puts A LOT of pressure on Donald Trump as January 20th approaches.”

“Maxwell has receipts. Lots and lots of receipts.”

    “Watch this case closely.”

Grotesque Ghislaine Grubbily Groans – Novelist and screenwriter Don Winslow – creator of the series featuring fictional private detective Neal Carey – shared his take on Ghislaine Maxwell being denied bail on Twitter late Monday. He quite rightly remarked on the dilemma this places Donald Trump in given him and his potentially trafficked wife’s connections to both Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell also.
  • Getaway Ghislaine

    Getaway Ghislaine

As two victims of Jeffrey Epstein do deals with his estate, will mucky madam Ghislaine Maxwell now getaway from the charges against her?

Ghislaine Maxwell’s purchase of a house named ‘Tuckedaway’ was indicative of her arrogant decision to try to evade justice and now, maybe, if she pulls off a coup she’ll name her next residence ‘Getaway.’

Yesterday, as rumours of Donald Trump likely offering the mucky madam a pardon swirled on Twitter, author Kirby Sommers published a blog that declared: “Is the case against Ghislaine Maxwell unraveling?”

In it, tellingly, Sommers suggested that ‘Bouncing Bob’s’ daughter “is probably doing cartwheels in her 6 x 9 jail cell” and argued:

“Two victims of the three victims expected to testify as witnesses in the United States v Ghislaine Maxwell case have accepted settlements from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. This will no doubt weaken the government’s stance against Maxwell and may, in fact, signal the beginning of the end of any possible indictment.”

“Maxwell’s attorneys had begun to argue, as early as July 14th, 2020, during the initial bail hearing, that the case against her is ‘weak, supported by only three accusers who are expected to testify about events that are more than 25 years old.’”

“During the past couple of weeks Annie Farmer and a second ‘Jane Doe’ (believed to be soap opera actress Nadia Bjorlin) accepted settlements from the Epstein’s Victims’ Compensation Program. The restitution fund, handled by Kenneth Feinberg – who was also the ‘9/11 Fund Administrator’ – requires them to dismiss any pending litigation against Jeffrey Epstein’s estate and any of his former employees. Ghislaine Maxwell among them. It also requires they dismiss the civil lawsuits they each initiated against their alleged abuser: Maxwell.”

Sommers has a point and with PR peddler Brian Basham elsewhere being given free reign by the likes of the Daily Mail to hawk nonsensical stories that Ghislaine Maxwell is “suffering” in hell-like conditions in jail, it is right that the sensible and the sane continue to call for this vile vixen to be brought to justice.

Getaway Ghislaine – Will Ghislaine Maxwell get a pardon as Donald Trump departs office, will prosecutors drop charges against her or will she actually face the trial she truly, genuinely deserves in 2021? Whatever happens, this wicked wastrel will wield her power packed address book in her battle and she will attempt to damage the reputations of anyone who gets in her path.
Getaway Ghislaine – Whilst Ghislaine Maxwell’s time in prison has been amusingly parodied, the seriousness of the possibility of her potentially now evading justice thanks to some dodgy deals and/or Donald Trump is quite shocking.
  • A Depp Disaster

    A Depp Disaster

Johnny Depp’s libel case loss is proof that you should never fight an opponent with deeper pockets and he’d now do best to quit and save himself further expense

Johnny Depp should never have brought his libel action against News Group Newspapers Limited. In doing so, all he achieved was to wash his and Amber Heard’s dirty laundry in public and cost himself millions.

As loathsome as The Sun’s Dan Wootton truly is, the fact of the matter is that Mr Justice Nicholl weighed the evidence up and saw the pointless car crash presented to him for what it truly was. Here was a case where a very rich man wanted to be seen as David and present a newspaper group as Goliath, but here also was a court case that has simply ended with the supposed underdog just showing himself as a tawdry mess.

In a judgment that extended to 129 pages, Mr Justice Nicholl concluded: “I accept that the Defendants have shown that the words they published were substantially true in the meanings I have held them to bear.”

Of this bombshell news, speaking to Sky News this morning, former editor of the Daily Star Dawn Neesom, commented:

The Sun have been proved right in this… It was the trial of the 21st century. It was extraordinary.”

“I don’t think Johnny Depp expected to lose… It was very telling that he decided to go forward with this trial… The sordid details have been frankly shocking.”

“Hollywood loves a hellraiser… But this is different… It’s domestic abuse… It puts a whole different shine on things… Will Johnny Depp ever come back from this?”

“Johnny is currently filming Fantastic Beasts in London and now JK Rowling will have a lot of things to think about… She’s essentially employing a wife beater.”

Clearly, Depp’s gamble didn’t pay off and now he’d do best to stop digging before the hole he’s created becomes a volcano. As he himself once said: “I think the thing to do is enjoy the ride while you’re on it.” Now, sadly for him, it’s jolly well time to get off.

    Stoning the Mucky Madam

As filmmaker Sean Stone suggests Ghislaine Maxwell could expose unpleasant truths for Hollywood, Virginia Giuffre scores another blow against the mucky madam

Asked during an interview last week: “What is up with Hollywood? Can it come back? Can it survive COVID-19?” by Russia Today America’s Rick Sanchez, Oliver Stone’s son and fellow filmmaker, Sean, responded: “Can it survive Ghislaine Maxwell is the question, actually.”

He continued: “I still think there is a lot more that is going to come out here with this Ghislaine trial because remember who, all, has been on Jeffrey Epstein island. And there’s been more in terms of the private jets and there’s been more than Chris Tucker and Kevin Spacey and the Clintons. I think you are going to see other Hollywood icons involved… More than we imagine.”

“I don’t think it’s even about her spilling the beans. I think there is case and evidence that is being drawn up that is in conjunction with the investigation into her. A lot more will be exposed about Epstein and Epstein island. I am 100% positive on that. And the question is who will be involved, who will be implicated, who will talk.”

“Look, we haven’t seen the end of it. ‘Me Too’ was the beginning of this, we haven’t seen the end of it. So, COVID is a wonderful opportunity for everything to shut down and restructure, but I think there is a lot of concern in Hollywood across the board from the exposure on the Epstein thing.”

Elsewhere yesterday, Virginia Giuffre told the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan that “Ghislaine Maxwell’s desire for privacy failed to justify the continued sealing of a deposition that the British socialite has fought to keep out of the public eye” according to Byline.

Giuffre’s lawyers, Sigrid McCawley and David Boies, remarked: “Maxwell’s vague argument about privacy interests cannot justify total closure of the deposition materials [and overcome] the public’s presumption of access.”

Going further, of moaning Maxwell’s attempts to suggest she was getting “unfair pretrial publicity” and her belief that she will be place before “a tainted jury pool, especially in large metropolitan areas such as New York,” the lawyers added:

“The size and heterogeneity of such communities make it unlikely that even the most sensational case will become ‘a cause célèbre’ where the whole community becomes interested in all the morbid details.”

Still very much in their early stages, the unravelling of Miss Maxwell’s grubby activities has barely begun and now, as Sean Stone has rightly observed, there will be a lot of well-known people who’ll be resorting to the Donald Trump school of “good wishes.” It’ll be fascinating to watch them fall like dominoes.

Prince Andrew – accused of abuse by the at-the-time underage Virginia Giuffre – is another associate who has much to fear from his long-time friend. Will she do the right thing and finally tell the truth about what he got upto on 10th March 2001 in her house at 44 Kinnerton Street, Belgravia, London SW1X 8ES? Somehow, that seems unlikely, but stranger things have indeed happened.

In spite of a judge rejecting evidence disclosure, Jeremy Bamber’s case now looks more likely to be reviewed by the Criminal Cases Review Commission; new podcast about the case begins Sunday

Though he rejected Jeremy Bamber’s bid for the release of evidence which he believed could clear his name on Friday at the High Court, Mr Justice Julian Knowles did give the convicted familial killer new hope.

In his judgment, the judge remarked:

“If ever there was a case where the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) should be approached to make a decision on what is said to be new evidence, it is this one. This is a massively complex case which has been investigated and re-investigated by more than one police force over some 35 years.”

“The body of material is vast. After so many years, and so much litigation, the CCRC is the body undoubtedly best placed to consider the claimant’s arguments.”

We today urge readers to watch the YouTube video that follows. It examines the sequence of events on the night of 6th to the 7th August 1985 and for those interested in learning more, we also recommend listening to The White House Farm Murders: Is Jeremy Bamber Guilty? podcast by Kaiesha Page. It begins this evening and is available here.

  • The Murky McCann Milieu

    The Murky McCann Milieu

Former lead investigator in Madeleine McCann case predicted latest development involving German paedophile in April 2019; he suggested the man would be made a “scapegoat” by Scotland Yard

Amongst all the hubbub of the last 24 hours surrounding the “identification of a German sex offender as the key suspect” in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, it has been conveniently forgotten that the former lead detective in the case, Goncalo Amaral, predicted such a development back in April 2019.

With nearly £12 million of public money spent on this case thus far, an ending – happy or otherwise – would bring closure for all involved. Yet, with British cops again recently grubbing around for yet more funding, this actually not so new ‘development’ actually could instead be primarily about helping that endeavour.

In April last year, Amaral – who had focused his inquiries onto a German paedophile without success in 2008 – told Australia’s News 9 (through an interpreter):

“Scotland Yard are preparing the end of the case. They are going to a use a German paedophile who is in jail in Germany at this time. He is going to be the scapegoat for it. I don’t how they will start it, but that will be the big ending. This will be the conclusion of the case.”

Significantly, Scotland Yard and the mainstream media seem to have now forgotten all about this.

The McCann Milieu – Former lead investigator in Madeleine McCann case predicted latest development involving German paedophile in April 2019; Goncalo Amaral suggested the man would be made a “scapegoat” by Scotland Yard.
The police have yet to explain the actual significance of photographs of a 1980s Volkswagen T3 Westfalia campervan and a 1993 Jaguar XJR6.

The car hired by the McCanns also remains a bit of a mystery. In 2008, it was revealed that “one of them had later removed the carpet from the boot compartment in order to scrub it clean.” The boot had been “left open for several days” also.

More significantly, shared on ‘The Complete Mystery of Madeleine McCann’ Facebook page last month is this photograph illustrating the distribution of blood spots in the sitting room of the holiday apartment where the McCann family were staying in Praia da Luz, Portugal in May 2007. Elsewhere, analysis of the setting highlights that tiles in the room were later removed by persons unknown.

Missing Madeleine – Questions STILL without Answers

Many questions about what happened on the evening of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann remain. Some that have been highlighted by the press and discussed online include:

Why did Kate McCann refuse to answer 48 questions put to her by the Portuguese police?

Why were certain records of phone calls on the evening of the disappearance “whoosh-clunked”from the memories of the phones of Mr and Mrs McCann and the ‘Tapas 9’?

Why did a British sniffer dog sense the smell of a corpse in a cupboard in the apartment from which Madeleine McCann disappeared?

Why did a sniffer dog also supposedly sense the smell of a corpse in a vehicle hired by the couple a month after the disappearance of their daughter?

Why did Mr and Mrs McCann go jogging and play tennis in the days after their daughter’s disappearance?

Was it acceptable for Mr and Mrs McCann’s mortgage to be paid by the fund established to search for their missing daughter?

  • Wally of the Week – The Duchess of Sussex

Wally of the Week – The Duchess of Sussex

In throwing out major elements of her argument against Associated Newspapers yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex’s defeat marked not just a battle loss, but the start of a worse stage for her war

‘MeGain’ should quit whilst she’s (just about) still ahead. Whilst public support for her is still just about there in some quarters as, frankly, distaste for the Mail and its parent operation remains high, this ‘I don’t want to be a royal anymore but I want everything that went with being a royal’ looks increasingly isolated after having major part of her case against Associated Newspapers deservedly struck out yesterday.

In delivering his ruling on Friday, Mr Justice Warby pointedly remarked that parts of the duchess’s case were “irrelevant” and “inadequately detailed.” He went further and totally ignored her claim of “dishonest behaviour” and now, according to Mark Stephens, a libel and privacy expert at the law firm Howard Kennedy, will be forced to pay a bill of upto £250,000 in costs as a result of her totally “ill-informed” claim.

Worse still, the Duchess of Sussex now faces the prospect of her five friends – whom most curiously still remain unnamed at this stage (raising the question of: “Do they actually exist?”) – being dragged into the witness box. In addition, yet more embarrassment and costs will follow for the royal family she once so used to crave being part of and as a result we today join those telling this mendacious madam: “Enough is enough. Put a stop to your nonsense before it is too late.”
