Sir Charles Dunstone recently took to the seas in his newly refurbished 65-metre yacht, the Shemara. The vessel, which dates to 1938, was once owned by the legendarily extravagant duo Sir Bernard and Lady Docker and this weekend Dunstone has the opportunity to add one of the couple’s famous ‘Docker Daimlers’ to his collection. With some 725,000 followers on Twitter, Wisconsin born Marissa Mayer is a popular and powerful lady. Formerly the key spokesperson for Google, San Francisco based Mayer became the CEO of Yahoo! in July 2012 and was ranked one of The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes in 2013. This Stanford educated Lutheran was the first CEO of a Fortune 500 company to appear in a Vogue magazine spread in September that year and once stated her priorities as “God, family and Yahoo, except I’m not that religious, so it’s really family and Yahoo”. Worth some £191 million ($310 million), Mayer surprisingly describes herself as “shy” and “naïve”; we’d bet that she’s really far from either.

The co-founder and CEO of “hospitality exchange” Airbnb grew up in Niskayuna, New York and attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Brian Chesky jointly set up his business in 2008 in San Francisco and has connected over 17 million guests as of September 2014. Offerings on the website range from yurts through to the entire principality of Liechtenstein. Though worth some £928 million ($1.5 billion), Chesky believes in the “eating your own dog food” method and has not owned a home since 2010.
