Anthony Marshall is a man who plainly refuses to give up. Finally jailed in June this year following his 2009 conviction for stealing tens of millions from his famous heiress mother, Marshall has put in a cynically planned bid to get out of jail on the basis of being too sick to serve his sentence. With 40 horses in training and a take home total of £44 million in 2010 alone, he needn’t and doesn’t do things by half and even once named a horse Fatcatinahat in honour of an article The Independent ran on him. This “Hearst with a heart” is a special projects editor at Town & Country magazine and the founder of Friends of Finn, a committee dedicated to stopping the “inhumane treatment of dogs in puppy mills”. A graduate of Fordham University, Amanda Hearst also happens to be the great-granddaughter of the inspiration for Citizen Kane, William Randolph Hearst, and once modeled for Tommy Hilfiger. She loves the ocean, California, the Hearst Ranch Winery and doing good.

My latest aim for a user-friendly existence is to be kind and forgiving and never tweet when drunk.

This Italian fashion duo founded their Dolce & Gabbana brand in 1985 and variously have been an on-off couple in the time since. Sentenced to 20 months in jail each in Milan in June 2013 for tax evasion, they closed nine of their stores and papered the windows with signs declaring: “CLOSED FOR INDIGNATION”. Their estimated worth still stands at £1.3 billion each nonetheless and an appeal is pending. When asked if he’d like to dress the Obamas in 2009, Dolce replied: “We don’t do politics”. They may, now, have changed their minds.
The inventor of the Catseye road stud never married and was an eccentric Yorkshireman who kept four televisions running constantly so as not to miss anything. Shaw had two Rolls-Royces on the basis that he didn’t want to go without whilst one was being serviced and even built a replica of his local bar in his sitting room so he could invite his friends round for drinks each night.
