    Sensible Scotland

Scotland has taken the right decision

Yesterday the Scottish came out in force and voted ‘no’ to independence. Though the ‘Better Together’ campaign’s win is by a relatively small margin and though their campaign was poorly orchestrated, it is a victory nonetheless and we should all celebrate the common sense of this decision. (more…)

    Where is David Cameron?

Matthew Steeples suggests that David Cameron needs to show his hand

Yesterday, David Cameron attended the wedding of his wife’s half-brother, Jake Astor. Unlike others, we have no problem with that but at a time when Isis have beheaded a British hostage and when the Union teeters on a knife-edge, many have called for him to reassess his priorities. (more…)

    May May go

Matthew Steeples suggests that David Cameron would do well to send Theresa May on her merry way

Those suggesting David Cameron will have to resign if Scotland votes ‘yes’ to independence are missing the point. It is not Cameron who should be under fire right now; it’s Theresa May. (more…)

The late Joan Rivers on success

    Get a grip

Britain’s Prime Minister needs to get a grip

Parliament is back in session and we’re now in September. The ‘Silly Season’ should be well and truly over but in fact we’re sinking into a quagmire that can only be described as ‘stupid’ and ‘irresponsible’. (more…)

An image of Nigel Farage outside his home shows his true character

Wally of the Week: David Cameron

David Cameron should not have gone surfing; he should have recalled Parliament

David Cameron did the right thing in returning to London in the wake of the execution of the journalist James Foley by a British jihadi. Just as President Obama did in heading off to play golf, Cameron took exactly the wrong course of action yesterday, however, in being seen on a public beach with a surfboard and tweeting images of where he is holidaying. • Matt Forde

    Matt Forde

Matt Forde“Who the f*ck is Matt Forde?” – allegedly the words of Noel Gallagher – are the first thing one encounters on accessing the website of this comedian and one time political advisor to the Labour Party. Nottingham born and the son of a former nun, Forde’s Twitter handles reads: “A talentless liar, a shameless sycophantic sell-out with a jelly spine and a mush mind”. As well as presenting a show named The Political Party with Matt Forde, this TalkSport late-night host welcomes abuse but “just give it [to him] on Twitter and make it brief”. Undoubtedly one of Tony Blair’s biggest apologists, Matt Forde described his favourite former Prime Minister as: “The best Labour leader and the best Prime Minister in history” in 2014. Churchill and Thatcher plainly passed this “hypocritical new Labour Adolf Blair-loving hippy scumbag” by.

Quote of the Week: Tony Blair claims: “I’ve not changed”

Tony Blair disputes estimates of his wealth and claims that he just wants to make a difference

Last week, our former Prime Minister Tony Blair declared: “I’ve not changed. It’s not about making money. It’s about making a difference”. Curiously, for a man with so little interest in cash, he then went on to spend £50,000 on a lavish surprise party for his wife’s 60th birthday on Friday night. (more…)
