A drill used in the Knightsbridge Security Deposit robbery on display at Christie’s is a reminder of the world’s biggest bank heist

Former banker David Gainsborough Roberts has amassed an extraordinary collection of items owned by famous and infamous individuals. A selection of them are currently on display at Christie’s in South Kensington and amongst them are a parliamentary robe worn by Lord Lucan, Lawrence of Arabia’s white silk headdress and a drill used in the Knightsbridge Security Deposit robbery in 1987. Amanda Platell

This acid tongued Australian harpy was the press secretary to William Hague when he was leader of the Conservative Party. She’s now reverted to journalism and after leaping to the defence of her “dear friend” Rolf Harris declared “Cliff Richard doesn’t deserve this lurid trial by television” in August 2014. Amanda Platell “ran out of sympathy” for the Duchess of Cambridge earlier in the year and declared “the real gay marriage bigots are its intolerant supporters”. Twitter trolls have been called “evil by her”. Why then does she herself write such hateful bile?

Scott Harvey-Nicholls

He shares a similar sounding name with a department store but Scott Harvey-Nicholls is instead co-founding partner of Romelle Swire, a London and New York based firm that “develops enduring partnerships between talent and brands”. A former marketing director of Elizabeth Arden in both the UK and Australia, Harvey-Nicholls grew up in Manchester and studied at the University of South Australia. He is regularly spotted with his “friend and business partner” Tamara Ecclestone.
