A Princeton graduate, the actor turned screenwriter used the pseudonym Ted Foulke to write Stoker and Uncle Charlie and came out as gay in August 2013 in a letter posted on GLAAD’s website where he declined to attend a film festival in Russia on the basis of the country’s treatment of homosexuals. In his letter he boldly stated: “I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly”.

    One of the world’s richest men, Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal paid £117 million in 2008 for No. 6 Palace Green in Kensington. He bought the property for his son, Aditya, from an Israeli-American banker named Noam Gottesman but is now selling the property for £110 million.

    The world is a poorer place in the wake of Sally Bercow losing the libel action brought against her by Lord McAlpine. Those who know me will know that I don’t especially care for the Speaker’s wife or approve of her behaviour, but nonetheless that “the gift that kept on giving” (as some newspapers have referred to her) has been silenced is indeed a shame.
