    Maxed Out

Scumbag paedophile Max Clifford bankrupts himself leaving his victims without compensation

Since being jailed, paedophile Max Clifford has shown absolutely no contrition and utterly no remorse. He’s sued newspapers, let his equally arrogant daughter, Louise, buy the “goodwill” – if such bizarrely even exists – of his former PR firm and tried to sell his ghastly Surrey home for £3.45 million. Now, in spite of reportedly being worth around £10 million prior to going on trial, this arrogant one-time friend of everyone from Simon Cowell to James Hewitt has pulled another scam and bankrupted himself this week.

In walking away from debts of £7.5 million, Clifford has effectively limited what compensation he has to pay to the women and children he sexually abused. One was aged just 14 when he sexually abused her and of the news an unnamed female victim remarked: “His recent behaviour illustrates his complete arrogance and denial that his actions had any impact on his victims”.

74-year old Clifford’s lawyer, John Szepietowski, told The Times: “Mr Clifford has always honoured his debts and finds this situation completely alien to him. He deeply regrets being in this situation”.

Currently serving eight years at Her Majesty’s Prison Littlehey in Cambridgeshire, Max Clifford has yet again proven his entire worth. Here is a cretinous creature who’ll forever be remembered as nothing but a scumbag and a disgrace.

    Ferry & Yah

A PR maven at the Chiltern Firehouse loudly spoke into her mobile. She speedily told the person at the other end of the line: “Bryan Ferry is amazing. Yah. Super yah… I saw his son in 5 Hertford Street. That was a triple yah… Becks and I had such a laugh coming up in the car. That was a yah, a cheers and yah… I didn’t try and talk to Bryan Ferry’s son. That wouldn’t be a yah”. She put the phone down, quaffed her cocktail and dialled her next yah-ing victim.

    Milton to Walton

At the bar of The Enterprise in Walton Street, Chelsea, a chubby woman from the Midlands summoned a waitress. She exclaimed: “I want a table now. Outside. This is war. I want one now. Who do those bloody people sat there think they are? We’ve come all the way from Milton Keynes”. Another customer mumbled: “We’d rather you go back there”.

    Storming Doris

“What is it with these storms?” asked a middle-aged estate agent at the bar of the since closed restaurant La Brasserie in Brompton Road, SW3. His equally bright friend answered: “Storm Doris: I thought it was a terrorist incident”.

    Blairing Blackpool

At lunch at Sexy Fish in Berkeley Square, W1, a pair of businessmen debated their worst ever mistakes. The winner? “I paid £1,500 to meet Tony Blair’s son for lunch once. What a waste. I wish I’d bought a flight to Blackpool instead”.

    A Need for Pecorino

“Pecorino, I need some Pecorino”, remarked a woman with an expensive looking pram in a deli in Marylebone. An elderly gent tapped her on the shoulder and asked: “Who do you and your kid think you are? Wallace and Bloody Gromit?”

    The Richness of Wholefoods

On Facebook, Matthew Cranwell posted: “When I see a rich bitch in Wholefoods, I pretend I need help and ask: ‘Excuse me, do you work here?’ Just to keep things real”.

  • Crook Bankrupt

    Crook Bankrupt

PR man of fat Australian Clive Palmer who wanted to rebuild RMS Titanic goes broke; appropriately his surname is ‘Crook’

In 2013, a larger-than-life Aussie gave a press conference at The Ritz, London after hanging out with a now deceased jailbird Astor scion in New York. He tastelessly announced he was rebuilding the RMS Titanic and when I asked him: “Will it sink it the same place?” he furiously had me banned from his party later that evening at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

In late November, this somewhat now reduced tycoon’s very own PR, a man named Andrew Crook went bankrupt and frankly, given his project to recreate that disastrous voyage in 1912 has come to nothing, one has to ask: “Was it all one big crook?”

That the fat man and failed politician Palmer got nowhere with his boat is one thing but that his sorry old henchman filed for bankruptcy is another. Crook, 50, of Brisbane, is said to have debts of AU$800,000 (£472,000 or $594,000 or €557,000 or درهم‎‎2.2 million). Who’s got that sinking feeling?

  • Powering a Wedding

    Powering a Wedding

Publicity seeking duo share details of their wedding – prepare to be amused at the bizarre details of their ridiculously over-the-top nuptials

New York based Norah Lawlor is undoubtedly a talented PR and her ability to create something out of nothing is a quality that we at The Steeple Times admire. The stories that one or two of her clients wish to put out, such as that of a Texan teenager who had a £1.4 million 15th birthday party, however, undoubtedly rightly attract comments of shock and disgust and yesterday, something similar popped into our inbox of equal ridiculousness.

In the missive, the nuptials of a self-described “Power Couple” named Ashley Taylor Cooper and Ernesto Argüello, whose marriage occurred at New York’s St Patrick’s Cathedral with a reception and wedding dinner at the Plaza Hotel on Saturday 15th October, are described in detail. As well as sending “every guest a briefcase with a [bizarre Danielle Steele-esque] video message [filmed in Colombia]”, the pair listed their international guest list of 400 names and communicated that they had used “Beyoncé’s sought after florist”, a celebrity cake-maker and a 10 year old “Instagram star” named Vivian Hicks.

The couple, who are described as co-founders of Snap2Live, will honeymoon in Iceland, Finland, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Australia and Fiji. Do keep up!
