This Liverpudlian footballer is a bad boy on the pitch and has also done a stint in the clink for common assault and affray. He provokes extreme reactions but the hatred he is subjected to on Twitter doesn’t seem to bother him a jot. For that reason and because of his intelligent tweets, perhaps a career as a media pundit beckons next.

Chris Corbin OBE & Jeremy King OBE
London’s most successful restaurateurs are the co-founders of Corbin & King. This dynamic duo have been partners in business for over 30 years and acquired Le Caprice in 1981. They sold Caprice Holdings in 1998 and opened The Wolseley in 2003. That’s now London’s busiest restaurant and again they are empire building with the launch of The Delaunay and imminently a brasserie named Zédel in Sherwood Street and Café Colbert in Sloane Square. King, who sits on the council of the Tate Modern, is often to be spotted driving his dark blue Bristol whilst Corbin is chairman of Who’s Cooking Dinner? for the Leuka Appeal.

He was labeled “Baron Von Essen” but evidence of his pedigree failed to surface. Starting in 1990, this buccaneer built up a collection of 26 luxury hotels but the £300m empire, developed with loans from bankers who plainly asked very few questions, collapsed in 2011. Since then, instead of quietly going to ground, he’s bought a Rolls-Royce from his friend Michael Winner and appeared at quite a few parties. Watch out: “The Talented Mr Davis” is plainly plotting his next move.
