    Petronella Wyatt

“Petsy” brilliantly combines life as a writer and journalist with being a social dynamo. When interviewing Janet Anderson, then Labour Minister for Women, she suggested that: “Under Labour, women will become more promiscuous.” Her own relationship with Boris Johnson was a very public affair but the daughter of Lord Wyatt of Weeford deserves to be better known for her superb musings on love, life and society. Here is a firecracker who is definitely worth following.

  • Suzanne Moore

    Suzanne Moore

This feminist daughter of a working class Tory is a lady who is truly independent. She votes with her feet and resigned from the New Statesman in disgust that Alastair Campbell was allowed to guest edit an issue. Honest and forthright, Moore stood in the 2010 General Election as an independent stating: “Vote for me, I’m flawed” in an interview for The Guardian. She secured 0.61% of the votes cast. Like her or loathe her, you cannot miss her.

A Chelsea resident, he’s often to be found at Motcomb’s, the Rib Room Bar & Restaurant and Sette in Sydney Street.

  • Hakim Berkani

    Hakim Berkani

A former parking warden who was probably the only decent one out there. He refused to behave like his grasping colleagues in Kensington & Chelsea (who referred to themselves as “Ali Baba and his 40 thieves”) and got constructively dismissed as a result. He rightly got £20,000 in compensation at an industrial tribunal but decently commented: “’I’m very disappointed because I believe that justice has not been done. My job was worth more to me than any amount of money.”

  • Neil & Christine Hamilton

    Neil & Christine Hamilton

Eternally cheerful survivors. They’re amongst the few who’ve beaten both Max Clifford and speed cameras. No one ever guesses what they’ll do next.

  • Henry Deedes

    Henry Deedes

Grandson of the late Lord “Bill” Deedes, inspiration for William Boot in Evelyn Waugh’s Scoop! This columnist for the Daily Mail has the driest of wits and is particularly anti Chelsea tractors.

  • Ellen Widdup (Ellen Porritt)

    Ellen Widdup (Ellen Porritt)

Alerted the world to the story of Julia Cross and writes brilliantly about all manner of matters for the Daily Mail and Evening Standard. Addicted to chocolate, white wine and especially peanut butter. It must, however, come straight from the jar.
