This Singapore based banker caused an uproar in January 2014 by apparently describing a cabbie as a “retard” and moaning about the stench of public transport on both Facebook and YouTube. The Crossinvest Asia employee – who is married to a former Miss Singapore Universe named Bernice Wong – subsequently apologised for his “poor judgement” but received death threats aplenty and was widely condemned online. Closing his Facebook profile was probably the best decision Casey’s ever made. -

Thoughts for the year ahead
2013 has not been the best of years. We’ve lost Margaret Thatcher and Sir David Frost and the word “selfie” has entered the Oxford English Dictionary. The economy has not got better – despite the nonsense spouted on the BBC – and the slaying of Private Rigby summed up the very lowest level humanity can reach. (more…)

The term “bonfire of the bankers” truly applies to the life of this divorced Frenchman who has variously been based in London and New York. Back in 2009, he told Bloomberg: “I haven’t cried yet” after being made redundant by Credit Suisse in 2009 and then in October 2013, party loving Assoun informed a London court: “I don’t have any money… Yes I own a $3.3 million New York apartment — it doesn’t mean I’m rich”. This managing partner of the MYD Markets trade execution firm is plainly a man in need of a better publicist.
