Nigel Farage joins the elite and moves to a large period property in Chelsea, London
Until recently Nigel Farage claimed he was the leader of the “people’s army”. He presented himself as a man living in a “small semi-detached house in the country” and someone who had “no regrets about being poor”. He targeted working class voters, sought out the “ordinary man” and championed bringing down the “elite”.
This pint-loving politician, it now transpires, has now taken up residence in a large period house in Elystan Street, Chelsea. Situated next door to My Hotel Chelsea, the white painted property is “owned by a businessman” according to the Mail on Sunday. Mr Farage is allegedly using it as his weekday “bolthole”, the paper adds, but does not declare if he is paying rent.
Spotted recently dining at upmarket eatery Bibendum – accompanied by four burly security guards – also, Farage is as entitled to make money and live the high life as much as the next man. In doing so, however, he can no longer claim to be a ‘Man of the People’. Instead, it’s time billionaire Donald Trump’s new ‘British Best Friend’ admitted what he now is: Meet Nigel Farage – ‘Man of the Elite’.
Matthew Steeples highlights an especially unpleasant individual – Meet Rupert James, a ‘man’ with a hatred for Gina Miller and what he calls ‘Kaffir Boys’
Aside from being a typical example of an angry old man, Rupert James is someone who takes to social media to abuse others. To him, Gina Miller is a “witch” and “an interfering bint”; an image of a black parking warden generates a comment of “just look… enough said” and a video of bull terriers attacking a black man in South Africa is shared along with the comment: “Take away has arrived. Feeding time… Serves the thieving Kaffir right… Hahaha!!!”
Rupert James shares his views on a video shared by something called ‘South Africa Crime Watch’The original post by the ‘organisation’
Shared on Facebook with his equally nasty chums, James previously has referred to other black men as “Kaffir Boys” and myself as a “complete c**t”. He added: “He’s going to regret the way he’s spoken and written about me. This I promise” and added: “Being blocked by this little s**t is as good as being sent to the Upper House”. James has no regard for civility and along with his cronies seems unable to accept how inappropriate using the word ‘kaffir’ truly is.
Regarded as “highly racially offensive, in the same way as nigger in the United Sates” according to Wikipedia and “seldom used as an isolated insult, but rather is used systematically by openly racist people when talking about black people”, ‘kaffir’ is a word that should be banished to history. It and individuals like Rupert James have no place in civilised society.

Hannah Harley Young’s debut exhibition at The Hospital Club
On Thursday 1st December, a private view of the works of the portrait and party photographer Hannah Harley Young was held at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden.
At a launch attended by such people as Henry Conway, Nancy Dell’Olio and Millie Mackintosh, guests marvelled at how this exciting new talent has emerged from the shadows of being a woman in an industry dominated by men.
Two of the works on display
At the exhibition, the daughter of the legendary celebrity and social photographer Richard Young showcased both party shots and studio sessions. Of them, she told The Steeple Times: “I’m interested in people. I’m intrigued by my subjects’ stories, their backgrounds, their hobbies, what they love and what makes them tick”.
Works on display by this “go-to-girl” on the party scene and photo journalist numbered images of everyone from Prince Charles to Elizabeth Hurley. Viewing of them can be arranged by appointment only by emailing [email protected]

‘Bride of Wildenstein’ got her claws out in New York; her boyfriend learns a lesson about playing with cats
Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes once remarked: “Those who’ll play with cats must expect to be scratched” and now, it seems, 76-year old plastic surgery obsessive and feline lookalike Jocelyn Wildenstein’s boyfriend has ended up getting exactly that.
The former wife of the now deceased billionaire Alec Wildenstein – and the lucky recipient of £2 billion ($2.5 billion or €2.4 billion or درهم9.2 billion) and £79.5 million a year ($100 million or €94.6 million or درهم367.3 million a year) for 13 years after their 1999 divorce – was arrested early Wednesday after gouging her boyfriend’s face with her nails and stabbing him twice in the chest with her scissors at the Trump World Tower apartment they’ve shared for the last 13 years.

Swiss born Wildenstein, née Périsset, appeared in court later in the day charged with felony assault charges in the second degree. She is accused of inflicting injuries with a weapon against 49-year old Canadian couturier Lloyd Klein and allegedly poured hot wax over him, “went for his face with her nails” and “grabbed some scissors and stabbed them twice into his chest”. The cat-like woman is to said to have been provoked into the violent frenzy after Klein allegedly failed to “pay her enough attention” after an evening meal, according to an unnamed source who spoke with the Mail Online.
The source spoke of what happened at length and commented:
“She can blow up anytime, anywhere and absolutely no reason. He says she is a truly beautiful person when she’s on her best behavior. But when flies into one of her incredible rages – look out”.
“… He was very scared, he asked her to calm down but she just got angrier and angrier and threatened to kill him”.
“Lloyd just pushed her inside [a walk-in closet in their Manhattan apartment] o get her to calm down. He told her this couldn’t be happening and this was wrong but he didn’t lock her up [as she claimed at the time]”.
“She started calling her agent, calling 911, calling security, calling anyone she could to say she was being attacked and held prisoner”.
“But when the cops arrived it was patently obvious that she could have opened the door herself”.
“By now Lloyd’s face was all scratched and swollen, he had two scissor stabs to his chest. The police took one look at the blood and realized he was the victim”.
“He knows it will happen again if they live under the same roof. Lloyd is very private and focused on protecting his image and his brand but Jocelyn gets a kick out this”.
“The remarks about her facial features don’t worry her. She likes a good scandal”.
Here, indeed, is a cat that needs to be caged: Jocelyn Wildenstein should be locked up for her and everyone else’s safety.

Kathryn Fensterstock reports on a party to celebrate Pickett’s new partnership with the Mayor’s Fund for London
On 16th November, to mark becoming an official charity partner of the Mayor’s Fund for London, Pickett hosted a drinks reception and raffle in Mayfair’s Burlington Gardens.
Guests, including Sotheby’s director Joanna Booth, Cristina Maxson, the Mail on Sunday’s Alexis Parr and Matthew Steeples of The Steeple Times, enjoyed generous measures of gin and wine at the behest of Trevor Pickett before learning about the work the Mayor’s Fund for London does for the city and their plans for 2017.
Matthew Patten chats with another guestAlexis Parr and Trevor Pickett enjoying some serious G&TsPickett backgammon boards
In a heartfelt manner, Trevor Pickett and Matthew Patten shared a few words on why social mobility for young Londoners is so important and where their inspiration comes from.
Trevor Pickett is passionate about nurturing talent in young people having learnt from hands-on experience himself. He is eager to support the Mayor’s Fund for London as he sees the unmistakable value in providing children with the key skills to climb the career ladder, gain confidence and improve their livelihood, just as the Mayor’s Fund for London does. Pickett looks forward to offering ongoing support to the charity for the foreseeable future as he has also done with Ormiston Families for the past twenty years.
Matthew Patten, chief executive of the Mayor’s Fund for London told a packed room:
“We are delighted to be an official charity partner of Pickett. Many young Londoners, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, are not aware of all the opportunities that London has to offer. As the founder of a London-based handmade leather goods business, Trevor Pickett recognises the importance of aspiration and acquiring the skills needed so that all Londoners make the most of living in the greatest city on earth”.
To support the Mayor’s Fund for London at Christmas this year, Pickett will give a 15% donation to the charity on all purchases in-store and online. Quote the code ‘MFL15’.

New series contrasting the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ begins with Sloane Rangers
Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Lady Diana Spencer used to drink at The Admiral Codrington whilst Sloanes named Perdita and Peregrine downed gin like it was water in The Australian in Milner Street.
Loud braces and yellow cords sold like hot cakes and Peter York was king of all he surveyed. Now, in a new era, this socially elite set of characters have had to evolve and though the majority of Kensington and Chelsea is now colonised by wealthy foreigners, Sloane Rangers are still be found braying in Kings Road, SW3.

Matthew Steeples alerts event hosts in London to Dr Nastro, Ian Thomas and their merry gang of party crashing cohorts
Last Wednesday, in London, around twenty gatecrashers arrived at a party I was co-hosting.
‘Invited’ by someone named Ian Thomas and a character who goes by the plainly invented moniker of ‘Dr Nastro’ (operating from [email protected]), these degenerates appeared mostly brandishing a doctored invite that came without anything other than timings and an address. It came with a note above it from ‘Dr Nastro’ reading “Embassy of X, invites you to taste of X” and instructions to “please come early, no RSVP required”.
Amongst those to arrive and be turned away were usual suspects such as David Pun – no surprises there – and several badly dressed women with the scruffiest shoes known to man. Told at the door that they couldn’t come in (with Pun being urged to “get back to Harvey Nick’s”), these people resorted to yelling abuse at the staff and one went as far as to tell me I was “a racist” and claimed I’d “be prosecuted”. He ranted at a distinguished lady and described her as “a dirty woman” and, as he left, yelled: “Elitist, comprehensive school educated bigots”.
Others in the ‘party’ numbered two ‘Housewives’ from Fulham. I nearly caved in and let them in given how ‘Desperate’ (not in the Eva Longoria sense) they looked, but rightly the doorman sent them on their merry way. The IDS-lookalike muttered and moaned for a moment before heading off into the cold night whilst Mr Frizzy and the chap that pretends to be a jockey complained: “You’ve made us feel uncomfortable”.
The next morning, a missive was sent to my co-host by a man named Phil P. Kelly of a never-heard-of before Twitter account @HowToEnjoyLDN. He moaned: “When we made a choice and went all the way, to what turned out to be a gin tasting event, a member of your staff rejected us because we had not RSVPed! This surprised us, as no RSVP was specified in the original invite, copied below. Or was it? Can you enlighten us further?”
After reading the accompanying forwarded message, I contacted the source, Dr Nastro. He answered with various excuses and claimed: “This has nothing to do with me”. He added: “I’ve been told it was someone called Ian Thomas who creates a party list weekly and my name has been used to forward to his friends”.
In a further missive, without even yet even the hint of an apology, the not-so-good doctor added:
“I got a lots [sic] of emails sent to me. I don’t remember that one. Maybe I could have sent it on. I did not know this was your event. I don’t really go to these type of events. I mainly see Pun at art gallaries [sic] making a nuisance of himself”.
Told by return “’maybe’ is a very convenient word” by me, he then bizarrely responded with an invite to a preview event at an art gallery named ‘Unit London’ that very evening. He explained: “If you would like to meet here, we could talk about it”.
I responded with the comment: “I am astounded. You now invite me to someone else’s event. Is that even appropriate given what you did to my event by inviting people who shouldn’t ever have been invited?” and contacted ‘Unit London’ and alerted them of his plan to crash their event.
Dr Nastro’s last email followed minutes later: “I will not send anyone to your events again, you need to find who leaked your invite… I’ve just been banned from The Unit. Can we leave it at that?” We can now.
“One-time secretary” Gianna Lahainer hit gold when she married a Palm Beach real estate tycoon named Frank Lahainer. He “indulged her every whim” and she is said to have a 25-carat engagement ring from Harry Winston, a white Rolls-Royce Corniche, a 32-carat sapphire, and a 26-carat emerald. When he died of leukemia and left her £240 million ($300 million, €283 million or درهم1.1 billion) in the in the middle of the Palm Beach party season in 1995, she delayed his funeral for 40 days until all the galas were over. Justifying storing his body for such a long period this “good friend of Donald Trump”remarked: “He was 90. I am 60. So why should I wait? I would miss the season”. She has married again since.
