Chris and Colin Weir
This former Scottish Television cameraman and his ex-nurse wife won £161 million on the EuroMillions lottery in 2011 and “believe that things do happen for a reason, and that with great wealth comes great responsibilities”. Chris and Colin Weir set up a foundation, the Weir Charitable Trust, to support small, local charities and as SNP backers had funded 79% of the ‘Yes’ campaign for independence with a £3.5 million donation as of May 2014. Despite claiming they’d live humbly, they put a tiny dent in their fortune by buying Frognal House, a £3.5 million “dream mansion” in Troon after viewing it for 10 minutes. If Scotland does ever become independent, Alex Salmond should reward this larger than life couple by making them King and Queen. -
Sally Farmiloe-Neville (1954 – 2014)
This Hampshire born actress, model and author embodied the spirit of a true trooper. Having starred in the 1980s drama series Howards’ Way, Farmiloe-Neville made her name organising fundraisers for both the Conservatives and charities and did so with a panache second to none. She did not allow an affair with Jeffrey Archer to shape her and as a caring mother to daughter Jade, stepson Alistair and adopted daughter Kat, lived happily with her husband Jeremy Neville, a chartered surveyor, in Baron’s Court. Having sadly lost her long battle with breast cancer, Sally Farmiloe-Neville’s arrival will now mean heaven will forever be a none stop party. -

I’m a fiercely competitive person. Many people find it annoying actually. From the need to always be right, to the desire to win and prove myself better than my competition, I always like to push myself to my limits.

“Pain today means glory tomorrow”. Fairly basic really: Work hard now and racing (and winning) will come easier. The hard work you do today will make the harder work of racing seem easier.
