Baroness Greenfield CBE

Baroness Greenfield

Baroness GreenfieldCrossbench peer Susan Greenfield is a scientist, writer and broadcaster who is credited with having “made science sexy”. The director of the Royal Institution of Great Britain between 1998 and 2010, Baroness Greenfield was born in Hammersmith and graduated from Oxford with a first in philosophy and psychology. She is specialist in the physiology of the brain and has long warned against the dangers of screen technologies. In 2014, Greenfield defended her stance but pointed out in an interview in The Telegraph that she’s “not a Luddite, I’m not Amish. No scientist could be a technophobe – I couldn’t do what I do if I were a technophobe”.
