Turning rosé

With the season for rosé upon us, here we make our suggestion for an “affordable luxury everyday choice”

Easter has marked a turning point – for now – in terms of the weather in the UK and after such a soggy winter, now is the time to make the most of the sunshine. With this comes a change in the drinking habits of many and for a large number, it marks the time to start drinking rosé again.

2013 vintage rosé from Chateau Léoube; Lord and Lady Bamford

The Steeple Times’ “affordable luxury” recommendation to our readers this Easter is the new 2013 vintage rosé from Chateau Léoube, a vineyard owned by Lord and Lady Bamford. This well-balanced cuvée is mainly made from made from Grenache and Cinsault, completed with a touch of Syrah and Mourvèdre. It has clear with light orange hues and has a fresh yet expressive palate. A good “everyday choice”, here is a wine that is far better than the many overwhelming offerings available in the rosé category.

The 2013 vintage rosé from Chateau Léoube is certified organic by Ecocert and is available from Daylesford for £14.99 per bottle.
