Picture of the Week: Roka and Range Rover

North Audley Street postbox outside Roka restaurant that has been tagged “Range Rover Street” sums up what that area has become

Our Picture of the Week, shared on Facebook by ‘Jeans Queen’ Donna Ida Thornton, founder of Donna Ida, shows a postbox outside the trendy restaurant Roka. It has been tagged “Range Rover Street” in black ink and certainly is not an unfair analysis of the sights and sounds of that particular neighbourhood.

Picture of the Week: Roka in North Audley Street is now designated as being in “Range Rover Street”

Conceived as a car for country gents in the 1950s, the first prototype Land Rover Range Rover was built in 1967 and now, under the ownership of Indian giants Tata, the luxurious vehicle forms part of the offering of what is the UK’s largest carmaker. It is more likely found in urban areas and given its price new starts at £71,000, it is certainly the preserve of Mayfair millionaires rather than Flintshire farmers.
