Trumping Clinton - An American election contest between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would most definitely be something to relish

An American election contest between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would most definitely be something to relish

On the 16th June, Donald Trump – a man with nearly 3 million followers on Twitter – is to make what he describes as a “special announcement” in the atrium at Trump Tower at 725 Fifth Avenue in New York.

Described as concerning the continuing “will he, won’t he” run for President of the United States of America in 2016, the media advisory was issued on Monday on a memo headed: “Trump: Make America Great Again!”

Given Trump has already set up a campaign website and has issued numerous releases and videos, it seems he is very much taking the possibility seriously. On the site, Trump states that America’s politicians are “all talk no, action”, that he wants to “get tough with Mexicans” and adds: “I will be the greatest representative of Christians”.

Separately, on his Facebook page, Trump also shared a Forbes Statista graphic concerning the highest speaking fees among selected public figures in the United States. In it, whilst Dick Cheney is listed as receiving £49,000 ($75,000) per speech and George W. Bush as £98,000 ($150,000), Trump comes out winner on £977,000 ($1.5 million). Of it, he commented: “Too bad I don’t get this for political speeches – They cost me a fortune!”

Donald Trump’s candidacy has been described by Fox News as “no joke” and him versus Hilary Clinton would definitely be different. Bombastic Trump, certainly, can be described as one of the world’s most successful CEOs whilst the fighter Clinton, equally, is most definitely seen as America’s answer to Margaret Thatcher. A contest that brings together these two egos would most definitely be something to relish.
